Not really sure how this place has gotten so many 5 star reviews. They all must of come from cat lovers. Let me start with the fact that I have revisited this store a number of times and have found many priceless pieces. But let me just say that I dread, like I literally sit in the car outside the shop and try to convince myself that there isnt anything inside that's worth having to go in for kinda dread, having to step foot into this building. Everytime I have gone it has reeked of urine and feces.the restroom is off the entrance and it is shared with the litter box. It smells of stale truckstop urine. My word....its enough to take your breath away. I hold my breath and try to sprint to the middle of the store when I go just to get past the initial shock of the pungent smell.its hot , musty and theres cat hair floating through the air. The cats are curled in and ontop of everything. By the time I get to the turn in the back of the store I have a shortness of breath, my nose and eyes are watery and my throat has began to swell. Its unfortunate that anyone that has any sensitivity or none at all has to endure such disgusting conditions. And how sad to see all those beautiful things being mistreated and uncared for. But maybe that's there gimmick to get you to buy to save them from this warehouse of cat fleas and asthma. 2 stars . 1 for great selection.1 for great sales gimmick. With the reviews they receive all mentioning how precious the cats are I guess it's working. If you see someone in a hazmat suit pickingthe hair off the treasures going to...
Read moreI hate to leave a negative review but I want to save people the trouble of a long drive if you’re from Chattanooga, TN like me, and drove 1.5hrs to get there. I’m not sure if things have changed over the years but I’ve been dying to visit this store for nearly a decade. The hours are limited and fate would have it that every time I’d be driving through Knoxville it was closed, so I made it a point to dedicate a whole day to visit. Based on content shared on their social media and google photos I was expecting a huge warehouse type of location with a ton of vintage furniture & home decor but that makes up about 10% of the store and there wasn’t anything “amazingly retro” to see, more like older furniture pieces you’d see at a yard sell. I feel hoodwinked. Unfortunately it’s fallen into the same rutt most retro/vintage store have which is allowing a bunch of venders to cram every both with old clothes, trinkets, cheap retro inspired shades, and earrings. Good luck finding any clothes larger than a large as well. So long story short, if you happen to pass through Knox and have a little time to kill you could check it out but DO NOT intentionally go out of your way to visit the store if you’re expecting to shop for vintage home...
Read moreStopped to visit Nostalgia on a visit to Knoxville. This store is an absolute gift. Trinkets, vintage clothing, a jewelry case that makes me remember why I love being girlie. The cat mascots prowl around or sleep lazily behind piles of books. My partner is into weird button down shirts, interesting art, and photography. I am into statement jewelry, vintage dresses, and books. We both got lost in the aisles and didn’t want to leave. The women that work there are so kind and very helpful. My babe has a bad habit of trying to buy me everything I want and the staff helped me check out in secret. Cheerful conspirators, all three of the ladies took our shenanigans in stride. Every time I visit from Louisville I will come back to Nostalgia to get lost in the aisles and...
