If you are brown skinned or have a Hispanic surname, do not use this location (or maybe any Office Depot for that matter) because the woman in charge will rudely refuse to serve you.
I had a 5:30p appt for TSA Pre-Check and happened to be in the area an hour early. I went in to see if they could help me early. The woman was talking to an employee who was crying (not surprised) and she was brushing the employee off. I tried to politely ask to be served early and the woman cut me off and said “your appt is at 5:30. We will see you at 5:30”. (Her exact words). She said she couldn’t access my appt at this time which I don’t believe.
I left and came back and when she agreed to help me, the first question out of her mouth was if I had a birth certificate. I told her what I had (TN Real ID, 6 mo expired passport book which is allowed by TSA for this appt, and a marriage certificate). She refused to help me and said I needed a birth certificate. I left and looked up the information again on my phone in the parking lot. She was wrong. I came back and tried to show her but she then said I needed either a birth certificate or certificate of record of birth abroad. I was horrified and embarrassed and humiliated. She was assuming I was born elsewhere because of my ethnicity. She wouldn’t even examine my documents.
I told her she was wrong and she told me “well you’re going to have to pay $85 if you want to try”. She was assuming I could not afford that. I told her that wasn’t a problem. She then told me that my application would be rejected. I said I wanted to try anyway.
She took me to the computer, logged on and then refused to go further because she didn’t want to check the box that said I had the appropriate documents.
I specifically told her that if she didn’t want to help me that I would’ve appreciated that she just told me so as supposed to what she put me through in front of other customers. Her body language and tone were dismissive and demeaning and I felt humiliated. I was born in this country and I am a proud patriot who has taken an oath as a police officer to protect others.
I have contacted corporate and an attorney. This will not get swept...
Read moreMy fiancee’ placed a printing order for 12 documents totaling 2,100 copies. She needed the order turned around fairly quickly for a presentation. Understandably, the order couldn’t be turned around in the time she needed it to be completed, so went down to the store to see if they could print us a copy of each document. We wanted to use their self print center to print the order ourselves. The store manager at Office Depot 37 in Knoxville, TN said that they were too busy to do that. It was approximately 5:40pm and the store closes at 8. The manager said she was leaving in 30 minutes and the night manager was busy getting ready for closing. I don’t doubt that the two employees had plenty to do while taking care of the 3 total customers in the store and to prepare for store closing nearly two and a half hours later. The lack of want to and effort put forth by those two ladies was really inexcusable and pathetic. We totally understand that it was a large order and it needed to be turned around in a day, but the total lack of customer service caused us to cancel the $800+ order and seek service elsewhere. If I could negative stars or at least zero stars I would because that would at least match the effort by two managers...
Read moreThis review is based on the very unsatisfactory experience with Ofc Depot’s Cust Serv Dept. However, the Kingston Pike store in Knoxville was the store that processed my online order. I did not get satisfactory assistance from them, either…just told to contact CS. I had to call CS three times requesting a confirmation of a refund processing and was told twice, first time was 21 min call and second time 35 min call, both extensive holds and then a promise that several action steps had been taken to make sure my return is processed. I was told an auto generated confirmation of the refund processing goes out. However, I have yet to receive the confirmation, well over 24 hours after my first call. So, I called customer service a third time, and once my call was queued to the appropriate Dept, I was on hold for 6 minutes with multiple incidences where the call seemed to be intercepted and put back into queue. When a rep did take the call, within about a minute, the call was disconnected. I did not attempt a 4th call. I will not be doing business with Office Depot,...
