Lived at Summerwood for almost 5 years. Overall very happy with living there and calling it home. The only reason we left is because of a new job further away.
Laura is a great apartment manager, and always listened to any concerns, questions, or issues we brought up and took care of them as best as she could, and made us feel comfortable since the first day she gave us a tour.
Maintenance was always very prompt, friendly, and efficient fixing any issues we had. Francisco and Omar were always so friendly and loved to say hi to our dog. Small things were always taken care of immediately like new light bulbs, etc. In almost 5 years the only major maintenance issue we had in our unit was needing a new garbage disposal which was done like 2 days after submitting the maintenance request.
Apartment themselves were nice in terms of the kitchen, cabinets, counters, windows, sinks, closet, etc. Rarely heard our neighbors noise through the walls. Windows were easy and smooth to open and close, no screeching or stuck windows. Although the garages are shared, there is a very good amount of space and storage in the garages
The apartment was a good price and comparatively better for what you get and other places in the surrounding area. The fitness center and pool were always clean, and grounds and common areas were clean and taken care of well. Lots of dog owners in the complex, and easy to walk your dog in the neighborhood. Laundry center clean, and usually not too difficult/a long wait to get laundry done.
Only downsides are not specific to Summerwood - just things that will happen in almost every apartment complex: Our unit was close to the "play area" for a lot of the kids in the complex. Just the acoustics and the location of our window really amplified loud screaming and yelling, but thats kids being kids. Closing windows helped a lot. Depending on apartment location, street noise on Harbor blvd may be kind of loud at night, and unfortunately, some drivers like to be fast/loud down Harbor in the middle of the night. But the windows do a good job at muffling sound if they are closed. Street parking for your second car might be hard to get at 5pm/6pm. But the furthest I've had to walk from parking far is half a block away, so just a 2-4 minute walk.
Overall so happy to have lived at Summerwood and happy to have met Laura,...
Read moreWe've been at Summerwood Apartments for over a year now, I can confidently say it's been a fantastic experience. Here are some key highlights:
Safety: I feel safe in this community, and I've never had a package stolen.
Amenities and Parking: Nice gym, poop stations, dog wash, and plenty of parking. The payment app for laundry can be a bit finicky, and for the longest time, it wasn't notifying people when their laundry was done.
Vibrant Community: Diverse, friendly neighbors and a generally peaceful atmosphere, with the usual buzz of kids playing and dogs barking now and then.
Top-Notch Management: Shoutout to Laura, our community manager, who's always on the ball. Maintenance guys Omar and Francisco are super friendly and efficient, especially around pets.
Good to Know: Street sweeping on Thursday mornings. There is one shared garage space that comes with the apartment, and you can rent additional uncovered space within the community. That said, there's plenty of street parking if you're willing to move for the street sweeper, but you should get a La Habra overnight parking permit, which is around $30-40 for a year.
All in all, Summerwood Apartments has been a wonderful place to live. Safe, friendly, and well-managed - it ticks all the boxes for us for a great home...

The staff is amazing whether I am going to pick up my Mail or going to the gym or just taking a dip in the pool. I am always greeted with a smile and they ask if there’s anything that I need . At night, the lighting is bright making you feel comfortable and safe , during daytime you can see how much attention the staff pays into maintaining a beautiful place to live. Gardening is awesome. Trees are green pet areas are always kept up. It is a truly peaceful place to live at. I would like to thank Laura Diaz the community Director for the outstanding job that she does running this facility along with her coworker, Valerie . I would also like to give a special shout out to the maintenance engineers, Raul Medina and Francisco Flores for their attention to detail in all the work that they do.
