La Mesa Barber Shop — Local services in La Mesa

I came to this barber shop , the first time I really like this place the guy was asking 20 for haircut , the second time I came there was a different guy his name was Lee , he did OK haircut , also his smoking inside and display have a smell of strong cigarettes , then he put on me a lot of hair gel by the end without asking me .

When I came to pay 20+ tip he said “ no my price is 30+ tip “ , I was in shock he made me feel uncomfortable next to the people who were waiting I felt really bad , after I thought I found the right place to do haircut I feel now like I never wanna go back there ,

30+ tip for ok haircut + sticky gel by the end + cigarettes smoke inside of the shop no thank you I’m never going...

The barbers here will get you a nice haircut for cheap. Very friendly to talk to. No appointment needed. Very nice place to go to.

Update for 2023 - original post is from 2017, prices have gone up a bit, but it's like everything else around us currently with rising prices, still a relatively cheap price for a great haircut. The barbers are very knowledgeable with different haircut styles and always seem to do a great job. I would highly recommend going here for a clean good look, great price, and good location. I went in, waited 25 minutes for the barber to finish with his current customer. Then when I told the barber I wanted a flat top, he said, "I don't do flat top" and just stared at me blankly. No apology. Nor was there any sign posted indicating that he is incapable of doing a flat top so customers don't come in, sit down and waste their time.
