Stater Bros. Markets — Local services in La Mirada

So google asked me if my experience at Stater bros has changed since the last time I was there and gave 5 stars 🌟. Well it has, now I will only give it 3. Reason #1 I didn't find all I was looking for and #2 because it's the first time I ever felt like that wasn't my neighborhood store. When I was at the meat department the person working there wasn't very friendly. First, he kind of ignored me then came and asked "what can I give you?" In a tone like he didn't want to help me. I told him 3 pieces of chicken that all. He give them to me and just right after me was a white guy "customer" about same age as me and immediately his tone of voice changed and said " hi how are you? How can I help you? " I stood up there like Wow! Wth I actually felt " discriminated" in my head all I thought why would he act differently? Yes Im not white, Im a latina with a degree, US citizen and fully bilingual I dont know what his problem was but it was a very different experience. All Im saying is treat people with equality, you never know later in life who will work for who or at what level does...

I love our neighborhood Stator Bro's here in La Mirada. I have been going there now for over 26 years and the people that work there are always friendly and the store and restrooms are clean. If you're lucky, you'll get Andy as your checkout cashier. Super nice guy, always says hi and greets you with a smile. The only complaint I have about the store is that I wish they would find another location for their clearance bins. They are located at the back of the store between the meat counter and packaged cold cut section. You constantly have to move out of the way because they put the clearance bin right in the way of swinging doors that go to the back area. Employees trying to re-stock the shelves use these doors and when they swing open you gotta be careful not to get hit so you have to move out of the way to let traffic through. I'm afraid one of these days someone will claim an injury if not careful. Over all a really good store with good people...

The store is well stocked and clean. I don’t think that the store manager is professional at all, he seems very angry, not to friendly at all. I over heard the way that he speaks to his employees. There has been several of times that the store manager has called one of his workers out on something, like I had went in and asked about a turkey dinner and the worker in the deli went to look at the book and it had said that they were all sold out. Then boss had told him no we have some, and a young lady spoke up and said ‘oh ya we just restocked. Well the guy at the deli felt bad and you can tell that he don’t like to speak up and say well in the book it states that we are sold out. Why didn’t someone tell him that they restocked. You know I sense lack of communication there. Well then I over heard the guys boss say ‘we don’t turn away customers! Dude the guy wasn’t turning me away! He was doing his job! Relax...
