This is a hidden gem in La Mirada. This restaurant specializes in Thai and Vietnamese cuisines. And, it truly has the most delicious food!
When we showed up, it wasn’t busy yet. It can get quite busy though. The decor is cute but the place is not too big.
Friendly, great and attentive service from Khoa. The staff says hello and good bye to customers.
PHO Tôm Shrimp - broth was very flavorful and well balanced. Good portion of noodles but not too many shrimp though. I’d order a different phò with meat next time. The noodles were al dente and did not get soggy. I love adding the thai basil and bean sprouts. The sliced jalapeños gives it a little kick. Phò is the ultimate comfort food, especially when you’re on the mend or on a chilly day. The large size is shareable.
GIÒ Cuôn Thit NƯỚNG (grilled pork spring rolls ) - my favorite of everything I tried. The grilled pork was very tasty and I like the texture of the wrapper. The Peanut sauce- loved! Great peanut flavor with a little sweetness! I put in another order to go.
GIÒ Cuôn (Shrimp spring rolls) - not as good as the grilled pork spring rolls.
Cóm Süòn Núöng (charbroiled pork chops) with steamed rice. The pork chops were very flavorful. Even when reheated, the pork chops were moist.
Khoa told me what some of their best sellers were. The food was so good, I decided to get take out for my kids. I’m glad I did!
This is definitely my new go-to spot!
Update:
Appetizers for dinner?
One of my favorites is the GIÒ Cuôn Thit NƯỚNG (grilled pork spring rolls ). So tasty and filling. It’s even better when you dip it in the scrumptious peanut sauce!
The Egg Rolls were a little dry but luckily, the Pork Spring Rolls made up for it.
There are so much more for me to try from their dishes. Can’t wait for my...

Read moreMy first visit to Pho 45 at this location - Feb. 14th, 2023. I ordered pho with rare steak, tendon & tripe. Small bowl with thin noodles.
I usually visit the Garden Grove location, not aware of the location in La Mirada.
First complaint - I thought I was charged for a large bowl, when I had ordered a small. I realized later that the pho costs $1 more than than at the Garden Grove location. The thought of being over-charged lingered, since a bowl of pho is already so expensive these days. Second, at La Mirada location, they bring out napkins and silverware based on customer need, vs having everything already at the table for self service. At least condiments are at the table; I hate when they bring out the small packets of the sauces.
As for the for the pho, the cut of rare steak is very thinly cut, as compared to the thick cut of fillet at Garden Grove. Also, the herbs were sparse, at least during this visit.
But that said, overall the pho was still as tasty as that from Garden Grove location. Broth was clear, but with deep beef flavor; noodle strands were long, fresh, and chewy in texture. The cut of tendon was thick, just like at Garden Grove.
Overall, good experience. Staff was a younger crew and gave a nice welcome shout when customers enter. I may alternate locations. This is closer in miles, but takes as long or longer to get to due to surface street traffic, based on my...
