The Home Depot — Local services in La Mirada

Okay, first off, I promise I’ll get the names of the fellas that helped me and give them a proper shout out…Ive been here a few times. New to the area so hasn’t been many visits. But boy when I say I was impressed. I was looking for a certain item in the cleaning supply area, and outta nowhere a man pops up and asked if I need help and what I needed to clean and he helped with my decision…mind you, at a different location, someone “helped me” and I ruined my marble floor, so not too knowledgeable…anyway, a different time, I walk in, not completely in yet and someone asked if I need help, same guy! Same one from the cleaning supply area from a few weeks back, he happens to be walking by the entrance, wth, this never happens…so I asked where I can find the spray cans, and he gives me the exact isle. Sure enough I find it, but they were under key. As I’m walking towards the paint counter to ask for help, someone is already approaching, different guy, asking if I needed a spray can (mind blown) this was around 10 am, so it’s a busy time. He opens the cage and is helpful with some questions I had about painting wood, and if I need to sand and what is the best coverage. He even asked if I needed sanding supplies, he could take me to that area. Okay, was this a prank? I was impressed and I really need to come find them and buy them lunch. And they deserve a raise. The La Mirada Home Depot I patronized this evening is one I have been to countless times over the years. Being a former resident of the area I have seen the changes good and bad come and go and come and go again.

In my opinion, it's just my opinion, this location has been a decent store. You get your management that makes the store a great store. You get your management that makes the same store a trashy attitude ridden store. For the most part over the 20 plus years I've shopped this location it's been a decent store.

It has, for the most part always been a clean, neat and organized store. That have what the general public need to start projects that they can't finish. I will leave that comment as it is...

The lumber they carry has gone done in quality big time. The lumber selection has done the same...

Now I understand that the buying power that this company has allows them to influence their suppliers. Which I understand. Until it affects their suppliers in an adverse way.

This company does not cater to its customers as once was its policy. No longer is the customer their main concern. They have shut down countless "mom and pop" stores that made their customers the main priority.

They have some knowledgeable employees from time to time. But they fire them to make way for lower wage employees that haven't a clue.

I shop them when I have to. Otherwise, I am elsewhere getting the service that I deserve as a...

I like this Home Depot, very convenient and close to home but I will rate it 2 stars because I ordered dish washer recently from them with the installation, the guy came to install it, while he is doing the installation he said the valve under the sink is leaking, I told him it wasn't leaking, because the surface under the sink was dry, however I told him to leave it and I will check it tonight or tomorrow, he said no it's leaking and It needs to be changed NOW!, I said okay I will go buy the valve from home depot now and come back, he said I have one in my truck and you don't have to go and buy one, and you can pay us whatever you want... I started to think that something is not right, I said okay, I will pay you $15, they said okay, after they finished installation, they told me they haven't replaced the valve, It seems they figured out it's not worth it to put a new valve, so they told me we couldn't find a valve and they tighten it for me and It doesn't leak now. I knew then they were trying to cheat me. So sad, I like this home depot, but watch out these guys who install...
