Before actually shopping for an engagement ring, I looked into the popular online sites like Blue Nile and James Allen. I read about Inclusions, Color and felt I had a handle of what is needed to make a diamond purchase. When I got serious, I went to Jared, Robbin Bros and even other local jewelers first. At all of these places I was asked to choose a ring immediately and got pitched VERY fast for a figure that was well above what I had researched. It felt like I was wasting their time that I was even talking instead of buying to be honest. Basically, I found they all had considerable mark up, viewed me as a commission and I walked out within 15 minutes.

When I went to Micky's I was very surprised to find Micky didn't try to push me into anything and asked more questions about what styles I liked, not what was on sale or what the current special was. When I eventually found a ring style I liked, she went through some options and I was shocked the cost of both lab grown and natural diamonds were actually less expensive than any place I had researched - by a considerable amount! I took a watch and a broken necklace in that had been my mother's and grandmothers. They've allowed me to make payments on the repairs. I picked up the necklace and it was fixed beautifully and in a way that will not allow it to break again the same way. Extremely pleased with them. Gave my granddaughter my diamond earrings and had them put in a custom setting and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.
