I took my dog to the vet here, before the switch of veterinarians. The veterinarian who is no longer there, was great. When my dog had an issue, I took him in, and it was taken care of.
The new veterinarian, is not as great. My dog had an “ear infection” a few months ago. I was told that cytology would be performed (which I paid for) to determine the exact cause of the infection. I was then told that he had a bacterial and fungal infection in his ear(s) and a solution would be administered into his ears to treat it, and would work for 30 days.
I was instructed that allergies were the cause of his ear infection, and he needed a Cytopoint injection, which I agreed to. I’m not sure how allergies cause specific bacteria to grow in my dog’s ear(s), but that is what he told me.
After about a month, my dog started scratching his right ear again and I noticed redness in his right ear. I brought him back to see the same vet. This time he told me he was going to put a broad-spectrum antibiotic solution in my dog’s ear to kill all of the bacteria. He didn’t use the term “broad-spectrum”, he dumbed it down for me. Why they charged me, the first time, to determine the exact microbial cause, and then it don’t work, is beyond me.
Both times that I brought him in , he lectured me about food allergies, and how my dog should be but on a prescription diet. The second time I brought him in, he told me that 80% of dog allergies, are environmental, and 20%, are related to food allergies and it is very important that I change his diet to either a prescription diet, or food with no beef or chicken (high allergenic foods?) in it. I still don’t understand the math on that one.
My dog has had problems with itchiness, in the past; I got him Cytopoint injections and a couple of days after the injection, the infection cleared up. Considering Cytopoint is for environmental allergens, and not for food allergies, I would guess that his problem is not food related, but environmental.
After I told the veterinarian that I have been having my own health issues (brain surgery/hemmorages) and can’t afford to pay for a prescription diet or for treatments that my dog doesn’t really need, he continued to tell me that bacteria just doesn’t “jump” inside of my dog’s ears, and that every time I bring him back in, he will continue to tell me about how important it is for me to change his diet.
It has been about a month since I brought him in, and he has the same redness in ONE ear, again.
As a side note, before I brought him into this clinic, he had a total of one ear infection, which was treated at another veterinary office, and cleared right up, right away with systemic (oral pill-form) antibiotics.
This is the third time that the same issue has caused a problem, within a few months, from this vet at this location.
Oh, and guess what? He said, every time I have to bring him back in, he is going to continue to “talk” to me about changing his diet (even though I can’t afford it), nor does he need a change of diet.
It doesn’t matter though, because I won’t be...

Read moreI have been bringing my “fur babies” here for a number of years now. I have seen a few different vets, vet techs, front end staff changes. I have to say I have never had a negative experience with anyone at this location. From the knowledgeable Veterinarians, the back end staff, and the girls in the front have all been fantastic to work with.
From simple vaccinations, teeth cleaning, yearly check ups to holding my hand and hugging me as I say goodbye to one of my babies. I have felt nothing but warmth each time I have had to visit.
I am currently dealing with my dog who has had a number of issues and I cannot say enough about Dr. Easthouse and the care that he has put in to Bailey. We have to go in on a weekly basis to monitor her progress and each time I have felt nothing but care and compassion from everyone there. It’s tough knowing your dog who is not old has some serious issues and when you arrive and are treated so kindly, it makes all the difference in the world to me.
I know there are many options out there and some are better than others but if you are looking for a vet who cares deeply about animals and their wellbeing and who will spend as much time with you as needed to help you know what’s going on and what your options are, you should give Dr, Easthouse a visit! He is extremely knowledgeable and his staff is...
