Spanish Springs Town Square – Family-Friendly Review
What Works for Families • Scenic, walkable plaza inspired by historic Spanish architecture; fountains, seating areas, and shaded paths ideal for kids and strollers • Free nightly live music, dancing and seasonal events like Cinco de Mayo and Halloween parades—great atmosphere for multigenerational groups • Variety of dining options: pizza (Flippers), seafood, Mexican, family‑style cafes—and plenty of kid‑friendly choices • Onsite attractions include Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center, occasional car shows, and communal recreational events • Integration into The Villages system with golf-cart friendly access, live cam, and easy connections to shopping and recreation
What to Know • Geared toward an older demographic—quiet, polished, and well‑maintained—but still welcoming to families • No traditional amusement rides; entertainment is cultural and community‑oriented • Expansion is underway—new apartments being added near the square, which may impact parking/noise in future
Pro Tips Arrive before 5 pm to beat event crowds and find premier seating near the stage. Grab dinner from Flippers Pizzeria or other casual places, then enjoy live music and fountain shows. Bring a stroller for easy exploration—plaza layout is expansive but flat. Coordinate golf cart or walking routes: connects well to Spanish Springs lanes, shops, and rec spaces.
Verdict • Families with kids (ages 3–12) will find Spanish Springs welcoming, safe, and visually engaging. • Best as an evening outing: stroll, eat, listen to music, and enjoy light entertainment. • Not for thrill-seekers or theme-park families. Instead: a relaxed, scenic evening hub with cultural charm.
Scorecard • Ambience: 9/10 • Family‑friendliness: 8/10 • Variety of activities: 7/10 • Overall value: 8/10
Spanish Springs Town Square checks the boxes for a calm, enjoyable family outing—plenty of charm and variety, and full of...
Read moreI came to the bowling alley in Spanish Springs, I was completely dissatisfied by my experience. When I came in, I talked to a gentleman named Chris, told him it was my sisters birthday and if we could get two lanes together. He said let me check, which I completely understood. He said he could accommodate the request and then I asked is there a possibility for a third lane as the rest of the party came in. He asked how many is in my group, I stated 10- to which he said you get two lanes. I then said, had I come in with just my wife you would give me a lane, we’re all paying separate and he said “ you get two lanes”. Needless to say, I chose not to bowl to lessen the load per lane, I didn’t want to give him my business. On top of it, my mother fell outside, so my experience was very disheartening. That caused her not to bowl. Then, the cherry on top of the cake- he put us in two lanes- right next to a couple and their kid. That is awesome, except he accommodated them by giving them two separate lanes- one lane with two people, the second lane with ONE (the kid) and wouldn’t give us a third lane. So, needless to say, I will not be visiting your location again, worst experience ever. Wouldn’t...
Read moreI've been going to Spanish Springs since 2005. Every year things change and get better. The Rialto movie theater is a wonderful place to watch movies. Toojays has great sandwiches, pastries and more. The Irish pub will knock your socks off and across the street from that is the pizzeria.. go on in a try one of their pies. There's a super nice and fancy restaurant on the corner going down Main Street and on the opposite corner sits Margarita's. They have serve great food during the day and then at night their dance floor gets kicking and drinking starts to flow!! There's also a Panera's there as well as, lots of boutique shopping for enjoyment. The best part is the "Free" Live Entertainment that starts every day between 4 and 5pm. Sometimes it's live bands and others it's DJ's. The sounds of the music changes with each group or person as well. You can go onto The Villages website under Entertainment for whatever day you want and find out who's playing where and what time. The same with the movie theater too. Don't forget to check out Sumter Landing and Brownwood as...
