I typically love visiting here at the Villages Ruby Tuesday for lunch or dinner. The different daily specials each day, usually grab my attention, Thursday for example with a cheeseburger, side, and unlimited salad bar, plus I think adult drinks are bogo all the time. There are also other great deals offered all the time and using a phone app. Just to be fully honest about the restaurant on a not so great event, one time, during a lunch after driving from Orlando airport directly to RT because I do like RT in the Villages, I did order a steak that for whatever reason was taking an exorbitant amount of time (not a huge deal I hit the salad bar a few times waiting) to come from the kitchen, the manager himself brought it to our table to apologies for the delay. He asked I cut into it, to make sure it was to my liking, which is medium rare. Upon doing so the manager and I looked at eachother both knowing the steak was very much overdone. He took it away with an apology and without hesitation and within only a few minutes returned with another Ribeye, it was cooked less, maybe medium, but still to much but better. I wasn't excited about the steak but smiled and accepted it, said it looked fine, also realized this wasn't a restaurant to order a medium rare steak, it was very gristly. That said, the attention by our waitress and the manager to making sure myself and my other guests at the table were happy with their entrees was exceptional, for that we were very pleased. For instance the salmon someone ordered was excellent, I tried it, and may order it myself on another occasion. Also I've had the ribs here occasionally and have never been disappointed. Full disclosure I've traveled quite a bit over the years for my career all over the country, mostly for contracted jobs that last months or longer, and it's usually a fortunate occasion when being temporarily near a Ruby Tuesday. This Ruby Tuesday is by far in the top best 3 in the country, we've been to around 8-10 of the locations, and believe me we've been to very low end Ruby Tues, one in WV comes to mind as the worst, the location in North Las Vegas was the best but i heard they've now closed that location. To sum the review up, if your in the mood for a casual albeit franchise restaurant that more then likely will be offering a deal for something you like so you don't break the bank, and if your in the area of Lady Lake or the Villages; even the drive from Belview or lower Ocala is worth the drive. Tip: call first to ask about the wait time for a table, I don't think they take reservations but a short wait sitting in the lobby...
Read moreGave this place a try after many years. Not impressed at all.
The location is in Spanish Springs and descent location. When you walk in, just feels like it needs a serious refresh. Hostess took our name. She proceeded to wipe down menus that frankly should have been thrown out and replaced. All tattered, worn and torn.
We were seated fairly quick which was nice. Server greeted us promptly and took a drink order, two waters and on Mai Tai. Well after a few minutes one water showed. She admitted she forgot.
After a few more minutes she came back and took our order. At about 10 minutes the 2nd water and Mai Tai showed. Now the places was maybe 1/2 full. So not busy. This was the last we saw our server. Food was dropped by another as well as the check.
My wife had salad bar and it was OK. I ordered hickory chicken that came with two breast broccoli and fries. Not even close to menu picture. Between the 2 pieces maybe 4 Oz. Dry and flavorless. For $19, no value.
Once check arrived we promptly put our payment out and right on edge of table to be seen. It was a card so no confusion we needed server to process.
We waited...and waited. The entire service lane looks out into the dining area. Manager was looking at his phone, another employee watching managers phone...our server blankly staring to dining room floor. After some time we went to front thinking that is where we should pay. No one there.
Host came back and said she would get our server. Server came up and apologized, she was rolling silverware.
Paid our bill and left. Won't be back.
UPDATE - Someone at Ruby Tuesdays replied to this review. I received an email stating leadership would reach out to follow up. 0 follow up. Do not say it will be done if no one will do it. POOR follow through and says a lot about...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to come for the cupid meal for 2 to celebrate our 21 year anniversary. We waited about 30minutes for a table which given they was busy wasn't bad. Once we got a table we sat for 15 minutes before a server came our table, later we got told the hostess that sat us never told the server we had been sat in her area. Once she came we gave drink and meal orders since wasn't sure when she would return. My wife got the 6oz ribeye cooked medium, the steak was so paper thin and fully cooked it looked and taste horrible. My 12oz NY strip cooked medium, came out raw barely seared on the outside. My wife asked for hers to be changed to the chicken since steak was awful. When the manager brought the chicken out it was ice cold, he stated there was no way it came straight off the grill to us. Clearly they pre cooked the grilled chicken cause it was ice cold. We then gave up on the meal and decided the dessert couldn't possibly get messed up so lets atleast eat that so we got the brownie explosion. The 2 brownie pieces are so hard the spoon couldn't break them, like petrified brownies in the cup. So by this point 2 bites of each item of a $60 special eaten. We spoke with the manager again about the fact we ate nothing and was still brought a bill for $45. The manager himself took the plates away and seen all the food still there. Remeber when customer service was a thing, sure miss those days. At 1 point I could here the manager tell the kitchen "I know the chicken wasn't cold" so yea horrible. We left and got a real meal at chilis up the street. Highly recommend passing this place and choosing...
