Amerikanos Grille — Restaurant in Lady Lake

I ordered the salmon salad and was served rotten lettuce. I sent it back, but first had to argue with the waitress about whether the lettuce was brown or not(!!!!!seriously rude). She brought out the same plate with a little more lettuce, some that was brown and some obviously half rotten. I sent it back and told her I didn’t care to order anything else. She then sends the cook out who shouts at me that he only works with fresh ingredients and that the lettuce had just been delivered that morning. I informed him that, as a dietitian I know very well what rotten lettuce looks like and that it was too bad he didn’t refuse shipment of rotten lettuce. Both he and the waitress kept shouting that the lettuce was fine - that they had served it all day without any complaint. I pointed out to him that my friend’s salad was perfectly fine, but they brought me two plates filled with rotten lettuce. They were both extremely rude and suffering from cognitive dissonance. I would not write a bad review except for the fact that their behavior was so outrageous. They should have just apologized and treated me like I was the customer, but instead chose to make a scene when they were so obviously in the wrong. I will never go back, and cannot recommend this restaurant. Go across the street to any of the other good restaurants in Spanish Springs. Steer clear of this...

Very disappointed with the staff and food.. ordered a gyros with extra meat & fries... 1st. It took 20 minutes 2 get our drinks.. hardy any ice.. 2nd It took over 55 minutes to get our food... and they were not bizzy.. Like I said order gyros with extra meat and sauce.. & a order of fries When our food finally came out it's was cold... Did not get extra meat or sauce.. 5 small pieces of gyros meat... The picture shows at least 8 to 10 pieces of gyros meat... when I ask to see the manager & that took 15 min... Management said it was per weigh I explain that I order extra meat.. and sauce.. not to mention there were only 10 cold fries... Not to mention the other 3 people's orders... This lady manager said she would take care of it... came back with 2 pieces of gyros meat that looked like it was old and dried up and cold... no new fries... Still warm drinks... No refils..... Was charged the price of 2 gyros & extra sauce... Asked 2 talk to the buffoon manager again.. Took another 15 minutes 4 her to get to us.. I asked her y I was charged for 2 gyros.. she said it was because I ordered extra meat & sauce ... my reply was . I didn't get extra meat or sauce.. so I told her that I would have 2 have 2 complete gyros to pay for it... And were is my 13 piece of gyros meat was... Asked to see the owner it said that she was in charge.. paid for the...

The vibe outside in the bar area was awesome (while we waited at the host stand to be seated.) The hostess was a miserable young lady with red hair. She was training another little blonde girl and kept complaining to her how she couldn’t wait to quit once she had her fully trained up. It was such a turn off listening to her but we were on a time crunch trying to make a concert so we didn’t want to start over at a new restaurant. When we finally made it inside, it was empty and a completely different vibe. Although the place was empty they sat us literally on top of another couple which was a bummer but we made friends rather quickly. This was all of our first time visiting (4 of us.) I ordered the gyro platter and asked to substitute chicken for the gyro meat. The server flat out said “we can’t do that.” I pressed her and asked how that was possible and why can’t you just add on an additional up charge fee. She wouldn’t budge. She said I’d have to order an extra side of chicken to go along with my meal. This baffled me. The sangria was excellent and the food was all very good. I would have given this review 4 stars had the service been better. From the hostess station to our server, everyone seemed miserable with no care to make...
