Why did a Claire's employee, not the Icing By Claire's, but the actual Claire's store at the Tippecanoe Mall feel the need to lie to me by saying that they no longer pierce ears? As a matter of fact, she stated that Claire's stopped providing this service awhile ago. Unbeknownst to her apparently, I hadn't yet left the store as I observed her give a parent the permission form to pierce his daughter's ears. I then overheard her ask for his photo ID. The employee opened the cabinet and started to get latex gloves, but once she noticed that we were still in the store she paused and closed it back. My little girl had items in her hand she was planning to purchase; I told her to put them back, we are not shopping here. Upon exiting the store, I took several pictures. I wanted to go back and have a word with her, but three of my children were there witnessing this as was the little girl (whose father kept watching me because he'd heard what was said to me I'm sure). In my profession over the years I have handled and responded to company reviews, surveys, guest relations, and resolutions. It doesn't take a lot to provide exceptional customer service and make each and every patron feel like you've gone above and beyond to earn their business. She didn't care what my perception was of my experience, nor that she flat out lied to me in front of other guest. Why??? I'm not one to speculate, especially for someone that ignorant, bold, and undeserving of my business. There's no acceptable excuse. Despite complaints even via email, the Corporate Claire's store/Simon, there was never any follow up, apology, or resolution offered. If you call and inquire they'll tell you that yes, they provide this service. For whatever reason, this one employee while representing the company chose not to provide a service to us. I hate to have a reason to point out that I am African-American and my children are half Hispanic, because it...
Read morei recently went to icing to get my ears pierced, my second holes to be exact. the girl who did them, (who seemed a little young, but hey what do i know?) was really kind & talked me through it. okay, great. BUT here i am, almost a week later, with my ear infected. i’ve used the cleaner they suggested. did it the way she instructed, you name it. so i did a little research & read other reviews. they do NOT clean their piercing guns as they should, & the cleaner they give you is like 45% bleach, which is good for like household cleaning, but not your skin. she also instructed me to twist the earrings so my skin doesn’t grow around them. after talking to a professional piercer, i learned you are NOT supposed to twist them, because all of the gunk on your ears gets into that freshly pierced ear. EW. then today, i was an idiot & put a pair of earrings i bought from there the same day, in my first holes. the back was stuck on there & it took my mom & i 15 minutes to get them off. we only decided to take them off because my ears were little bleeding. so i will not be returning to icing for any piercings, or earrings. i am also only giving them one star because it won’t let me post without giving them at least one star. i actually...
Read moreThe girl, named Sara, that pierced my ears did not do a good job! She completely messed it up! She was also very rude and didn’t seem like she cared at all! The piercings were not where I asked them to be and when I told her I wanted them a little over she was very offended and thought that they were fine. They weren’t! They were very uneven and not spaced well at all! When I told her I didn’t like where they were she didn’t care at all that she messed up! I am a young girl who is very upset now that my second piercings didn’t go good! Now I have to wait a whole week to redo them by a new girl! The whole time I was in the store she was acting weird and she would look at her co-worker weird too. Her co-worker was very nice and gentle. She was sorry about what happened and her...
