(EDIT: Sleep Number customer support reached out and made the situation right. I am changing from a 1 star review to a 3 star review. 3 stars because it took way too much effort and stress on my part to get anywhere with customer service.) I want to preface this by saying this was not at the store, but through Sleep Number customer service support. Sleep number customer service has got to be one of the worst there is. I am not the type of person to cause problems with anyone in customer service because I've worked in the industry my whole life, but I've had better customer service from fast food restaurants. I purchased a bed for over $2,000 roughly 4 months ago and ran into a problem recently where it would deflate. I followed the troubleshooting tips the company recommends and I discovered there was a crack around the seal that holds the hose connection to the bad. Essentially, something I can't fix. I called Sleep Number customer service to see what I can do. I was told they can fix it, but unfortunately the bed wasn't under warranty anymore and it would be a $99 technician fee to come fix it. The notion of having to pay a technician $99 for a fault in the bed I purchased ONLY 4 months ago is ludicrous. I think if more customers new this from the beginning they wouldn't buy your product. Who would spend the kind of money on your mattresses to not be covered for more than what you cover? However, this isn't the worst part of the ordeal. I was also told the soonest they could get a technician to fix the issue would be more than two weeks. Two weeks. Two weeks of sleeping on a completely deflated bed that essentially equates to the feel of plywood or the floor. I was told that there were no emergency technicians who can come sooner and I would have to wait. In what universe is it an acceptable solution to have a customer sleep on the equivalent of the floor because their product doesn't work as advertised? Keep in mind this problem happened only after 4 months. I was told I could try and replace the faulty chamber on my own, but it would take 2 business days for it to be shipped out of their warehouse and 3-5 business days to be shipped by a delivery company. Again, this just seemed absurd to have to wait more than a week to be able to sleep comfortably as advertised by Sleep Number. I then spoke with a manger who told me they could express ship the package, but I would have to pay express shipping for the bed and it would still take 4 business days. I was offered a waived technician fee and express shipping fee, but thatās not my main issue. How can Sleep Number suggest sleeping like this? How do they not have emergency technicians who can respond for situations like this? It is not healthy to sleep on what I have had to sleep on and it is absurd the minimal effort Sleep Number has offered to right this wrong situation. Either deflated beds is a huge design flaw and their technicians are completely booked two weeks in advanced to fix the issues, or Sleep Number needs to hire more technicians. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with my treatment and will not recommend Sleep Number to anyone unless this situation can be fixed.
