I know it takes awhile to find a doctor that you "groove" with, and I like to read reviews about the new doctor I'm about to see, but I also like to decide for myself. Next time I might listen to what people say in reviews more seriously. The doctor I saw said maybe 25 words total to me. Eye contact, maybe twice, grimaced a couple of times, and instead of feeling bad for myself, having to deal with yet another doctor with absolutely NO bedside manner, I felt sorry for him! I was wondering what in his life has gone so wrong that made me feel like he was absolutely tortured having to be there, and do this job that seemed to give him absolutely no joy! I'm 58, and after all these years I've finally worked out what works best for me medication wise. I've been taking the same medication for the last five years, and I've thrived without changing anything. Unfortunately my last doctor, whom I loved by the way, was at the same practice but she was unhappy here, and left. Ever since then, I've been looking for a PC to just continue what I did with her, because it works for me! This doctor felt the need to change the dosage of a medication I've been taking for 8 years, by abruptly reducing the daily amount to be taken by 2/3rds! This medication needs to be titrated down slowly so that the person doesn't have the serious side effects that are noted in all of the documented information about this drug. I did agree to try to titrate down because I was happy to not have to find another PC, but after the appointment, when I saw what he wrote the prescription for, I knew that all things considered, I was never going back to him again. So here I go, off to search for yet another doctor in Boulder County, that can just meet me somewhere in the middle, be kind, and understanding, make eye contact, and not make me feel like myself , and others who come to see him or her are the bane of their existence! By the way, the doctor before him in the same practice that I was hoping would be a good fit, let me know in a roundabout way, that it was inconvenient to read communications by her patients to her in the patient portal. Good...
Read moreI'd give negative stars if I could. I've been going here for 35 years, ever since before I was born when it was still run by Dr. Hibbard. I loved this practice, so much that even when I moved far away from Lafayette I kept going there. When I lived in Greeley, or worked in Downtown Denver and it was so inconvenient to go, I still made all my appointments there. The last 6-7 times I've been there, have been less than impressed. Mostly the current receptionist staff couldn't be more cold or unwelcoming. I've never met someone who is supposed to greet customers be so terrible at customer service. Today, I got an appointment after dealing with severe bronchitis. Coming from Downtown Denver, I hit some heavy traffic and it caused me to be 12 minutes late. Obviously ill and in need of meds, I am informed there "is a 10 minute late policy" where if you're 10 minutes late the doctor has discretion to make you book a different appointment. I ask the receptionist, "you're sending home a sick person in need of medical care?!?" to which she very snooty and very uncaring replied, "I am not sending you home, the doctor is." My appointment was for an entire 1/2 hour, which at this point has 15 minutes left where I could have been seen. I've had bronchitis at least 25 times in my life, probably more. I know for a fact she only needed 5 minutes to listen to my lungs, say "Yep - you've got bronchitis, here is your zpac prescription". Doctor Hibbard would be very disappointed in the level of service his long time customers receive. The doctor today was in the wrong, end of story. Almost worse than that was the attitude, delivery, and manners of the front desk staff. FMA, you need to take a seriously hard look at your employees. I wish my leaving your practice after 35 years mattered to you, but I am sure it doesn't. I am just another number, which you made ABUNDANTLY clear to me this afternoon while I was coughing, wheezing and in need of care. Sincerely,...
Read moreI was a patient here for years. After the same doctor I wanted to try someone new. My original doctor was a DO, and after a major TBI, body manipulation was not helping me in my day to day. And because I was constantly complaining about the same things and nothing was changing in my quality of life or my health with my DO, I decided to switch to a DR. and try something different, I was also not liking my care anymore and yes, I was not liking my doctor either just to make that clear. It happens every day. People change doctors. And that’s what I did scheduled an appointment with a new doctor and mentioned I wanted to try out a new doctor. The first thing the new doctor says as she sits down is “I’m not your doctor, that other person is your doctor, I can help today, but you have to go back to her. I won’t be taking you on.” That crushed me. It was yelling at me because meant to leave an abusive relationship only to be told “we can’t help you, and you should just stick with your abuser.” I was destroyed inside and realized I wasn’t wanted there. I’m still broken by the interaction. Not even a caring word or even ask “”””why”””. Why I needed to see a new doctor, why had I not been to my old doctor in years, why are you here today. She was quick to dismiss me and send me out the door as soon as possible because I was not her patient. So please!! Don’t go here. If you are healthy and have absolutely zero health issues like I did before the TBI, this is the place for you. But if you are sick, especially if you have a mental health issue or are suicidal, don’t go here. Again big warning. Mental health patients, watch out for this place. They will make things worse and leave you...
