I took my first metalsmithing class I yesterday @silverpeakstudioco and I learned so much!! Worked with different metals, textures, learned about cutting metal, annealing, soldering, pickling, shaping, sizing, different tools and their functions and so much more! I liked it so much, that I signed up for their metalsmithing class II for today to learn how to make a stone ring!! I am so excited to be learning about the different techniques and metals because I am hoping to have my own jewelry business take off one day!! I highly recommend this studio, the class sizes are small so you get a lot of one on one and Alec, my class instructor, was very personable and extremely knowledgeable in his craft! Silver Peak Studios, Intro to Metal Smithing gave me insight into the process of making metal jewelry. I gained a new awareness of the skills used in Jen's extensive line of mixed metal jewelry; Jen Lesea Designs. I had the pleasure of doing the adventure weekend in September, made new friends, gained new skills, and had a blast! Jen, the owner of Silver Peak Studio is very inviting and took great care of us during the three day adventure. She had everything well planned including the meals the hike and everything in between! The instructors Liz and Kenzie are definitely top notch! They made the hands on classes so much fun and inspiring! No questions were too silly and they shared so much knowledge.
