My family made it out to our first Lafayette Farmers Market and what. a. vibe. It was a cloudy cool day, perfect for strolling and lingering a little longer than we do in our somewhat hectic day-to-day life. We got coffee, treats to eat on site, and some delicious produce to take home for meal prep. The music at the center of the market fills the area with sounds that remind you (or me at least) to slow down and enjoy the moment. There are lots of areas for kids to roam, people to eat, and to pull a wagon/stroller/cart through the market. We also popped into several local shops, not being from the area, and there are some real gems. My tips: bring cash, reusable shopping bags, sunscreen, water, a cooler + ice packs, and mugs to keep that coffee...
Read moreThis is an incredible jewel and a great reason to visit Lafayette. It’s wonderful to be able to stroll to the market and get eggs, produce, and a snack from the food vendors among other needs. Also, it brings the community together and provides a chance to see old friends and make new ones in increasingly troubling times. Having the farmers market here allows you to see some of the other shops in the area especially if you walk up or down S. Public Road. You won’t be sorry if you visit! Three Kings Kombucha and NA Beer is awesome. There are a couple gluten free vendors. The pupusas are excellent.
