I have always found the "% off Sale" thing very annoying & too complicated for the "mathematically challenged". I prefer the "put the damned selling price on the item" method; & that's ALL I need to know to decide whether it's a price I am willing to pay! I don't want to do % math calculations & am NOT FOOLED into actually believing that the store generously taking less profit to make me feel like a "smart shopper!"
Also, at the store's apparent insistence, I was "almost verbally assaulted" by a sales pitch of such persistence & ferocity by the cashier of the obvious & possibly life-altering advantages of their store charge card & its associated benefits that I would have to be a fool to miss this opportunity to apply for membership. It was like I was throwing away FREE MONEY! I could have "saved over $7 on this purchase alone!"
Finally, I must say that the store was very neat & clean, did not seem understaffed, & aside from the cashiers' mandates to push, push, push the cards, the staff is cheerful, knowledgeable, & helpful. The variety & quality of goods is fine; a little high priced (even with all the 50-75% OFF "sales"), but within the usual parameters of dept store items.
I like that Kohls is a Wisconsin based business, altho I understand that may change as another out-of-state "vulture culture" financial consortium may be seeking to buy it & eviscerate it in the name of free enterprise.
That would be too bad. I will still shop there until that happens & I...
Read moreFound some really nice clothes on sale. Best quality fabric in the area. Their shoes, appliances, etc are all pretty good too. Prices run kind of high, but the sales tend to put everything into a comfortable range. Staff is usually pretty helpful
Recently went in again and the management is super lazy. Let me explain. I worked in retail for years and I understand that if there's a price dispute with a customer, you always investigate the signage, the location of the product, etc to ensure that your pos system did or didn't make a mistake of a customer questions a sale item. I bought sunglasses and they were on a Branded rack with a 50 percent off sign. Double checked ro be sure it was the same brand. At checkout they charged me full price and I told her there was a sale sign and she called a manager who just scanned it on a hand computer, said it wasn't in the system at that price (obviously) and claimed I must just be wrong. When I worked in retail I would have checked rhe physical rack too. Seems kinda obvious. If I was still wrong after that, it us what it is, but she didn't even bother...
Read moreI will never shop at Kohls again after being a lifelong customer. I was in the women’s department in the changing room trying on bras when I could see a man enter & start up a conversation with someone who was also in the fitting room. I was so unbelievably uncomfortable & felt completely violated. While this man was in the fitting room he opened a dressing room door & I heard a ladies voice & I heard him apologize & the lady saying the door doesn’t lock! Then my husband ask a male manager where he could try on a pair of jeans & he was directed to the same fitting room I was in, in the women’s department. The manager informed him that the fitting rooms are coed! Hubby found a different fitting room & he also informed me that the man who entered the fitting room I was in was the manager he spoke with. When a store can’t respect my privacy & is allowing men into the women’s dressing room you are completely wrong! On a side note a lot of us women live with sexual traumas & men being in our areas is not okay!!! Do not let your girls go into these dressing...
