03AUG24. I usually like visiting this small intimate produce stand because it reminds me of home in NC. However today's visit made me determine that I'm not within the demographic to shop here much less get any general customer service. The woman at the front desk tried to ring my purchase at $40 only to re-ring it at $24. I asked the elderly woman for 3 peaches however when she brought them out and I inspected them, I decided that I did not want them anymore. She asked me why I didn't want them and I told her they're not similar to the peaches I'm accustomed to; these peaches were gigantic. She then makes the sarcastic comment that what do you expect, that IL would get produce from your home state and began to laugh. It's so much more than that because what I treasure most is the basic hospitality from my home state that honestly is far in few to come by out here. So I reckon I need to tell my colleagues about this experience so that they won't have to deal with this unnecessary behavior when someone just doesn't want an item and they get the third degree with sarcasm...
