We recently had our son's birthday party at Valhallan in Lake Forest and the kids had a complete blast. Even some of the parents got their inner kid out and played as well. We even paid for an extra hour and the kids still didn’t want to leave when time was up :) They could have probably stayed all day long :)
As most parents know, finding things to do that everyone enjoys for birthdays can be stressful and challenging, but this hidden gem truly made it so easy and fun. The cost was very reasonable as well.
The owners are a father-and-son team and so pleasant to work with. The place is very clean and offers a great variety of the top e-sports games. In addition to the e-sports games, they also have Minecraft and Roblox as well as a few classic arcade games.
Furthermore, if your child has an eye on joining a competitive e-sports team for high school or college/university, this is a great place to hone their skills. In today's world, e-sports is everywhere and at all universities and can be very competitive so it's great to see a place like this exists for those that want to pursue this path and the opportunities that come along with it.
I also read another review for Valhallan, whereby the father had played a lot of sports growing up, but their child had physical challenges making it too difficult for him in team sports. The father mentioned that e-sports had given his child an opportunity to be part of a team and learning all the things that working together with others brings. His story really resonated with me and thought I share in case anyone's situation is similar.
We will be back for all their other...
Read moreMy kids, a 5th grader and a middle schooler, both play on the Valorant team. We're too far for them to play at the Lake Forest arena, so they play virtually.
Before signing up, we were in the Irvine area and had a chance to take the kids to one of Valhallan's tournaments in-person. The kids enjoyed being able to play in the esports arena with other gamers of similar ages. It was great to see other parents being supportive of their child's passion for competitive team gaming.
We love that the kids get to practice communicating with teammates in an encouraging, positive environment. The coaches are passionate gamers so they're able to really connect with the kids and speak their language.
David, the owner, and his son, Coach Vince, are knowledgeable about games, technology, esports and learning opportunities for the kids in the industry. They've created a fun and welcoming community for both...
Read moreWhat a great find! My son is really into gaming and I came across an ad about a local gaming training center. I signed him up for 1 day camp just to try it out.
Space is clean and love the setup. Mostly PC but do offer console and a couple arcades. Offer some snacks and drinks as well.
They have a lot of different programs to choose from. Even a parent’s night out offering on Fridays!
After I picked up my son, we talked about his experience. He had the best time learning more about PC play and was able to try a few new games that he hadn’t thought about playing. He was super excited that they invited him back for a tournament over the weekend.
If your kids are into gaming and need something to do over the summer, I would encourage you to look into their camps or day programs. It’s guided, engaging and allows them to learn new skills!
Thanks Vincent and the...
