Once again, the Verizon store in Hallie are complete idiots. My phone had this weird flickering on the screen, and since I've had it for two years, I figured it was just getting old and there was something wrong with it. So I stopped in to ask them if it was broken or if I needed a new phone. Of course, they said I needed I new phone. After they restarted it (which I told then I had done several times already, but no, he did it differently than I did so his way was better), he immediately told me about the special that started just today. This was after he had asked me if I had a service plan and I had said no. Fortunately for me, I didn't have time to get a new phone tonight, and thank goodness I didn't. I Googled the problem tonight and guess what? In a matter of less than thirty seconds, the problem was fixed, simply by adjusting the brightness on my phone. Okay, so maybe I should have done this from the start. But the Verizon store in Hallie is right on my way home so I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt; they are supposed to be the experts. I should have known better, especially given that I have never had a good experience there. At every experience, the salespeople I have found to be pushy and not very knowledgeable, and mistakes have been made frequently when I have paid my bill or made changes. If you do want to pay a bill, it takes nearly a half an hour because "they have to do ask these other things" in order for it to work, there is no longer a payment machine in which you can do it conveniently. Tonight was no different, and I nearly traded in a perfectly good phone for no reason at all except that the salesperson had no idea what the problem was. They just wanted a sale. The only good thing about tonight was that the salespeople were not quite as creepy as they have been in the past (and some have made me very uncomfortable in a very creepy sort of-like-I-dont-want-to-be-there-without-my-husband sort of way, although the young kid who helped me with his belted dress pants that's waist was below his hips was a little strange. (I wasn't there on behalf of the fashion police, so who am I to judge?) From now on, I will trust Google. And I'll wait to get my new phone when I'm good and ready. Just not from that Verizon store. If you come to this store, come loaded with knowledge or you'll certainly be talked into something...
Read moreWe went here because my phone had stopped working abruptly. I wanted to see if it was fixable, I knew it might not be, but I was hoping. So, greeting was pleasant enough, but the issue I had was that even though we specifically asked "can this be fixed" we couldn't get an answer. We got a bunch of "it could be but if it's not LOOK AT ALL THESE OTHER PHONES!" Yeah, that's great, but... can you fix my phone? "The new s8+ has a screen about the same size!" Yeah, sure, that's fine, but... my phone??? Can you fix it??? "Payment plans!!" Seriously, oh my god, answer my question. Can. You. Fix. My. Phone. - after they finally tried (their "Samsung expert" didn't know how to get to the service screen until I told him- so this also didn't bode well for them...) and, yeah, my phone was dead. Just a freak thing, only Samsung phone we've had that did that. He said he could give us 20 bucks on a trade in to get a new phone- when we went to the ACTUAL Verizon store by the mall, they gave us I think 80 for it because physically it was perfect, it was a software issue. I get that you've gotta sell, hell, I work in retail sales and get commission too- but read the room man. I wanted my phone, and we couldn't afford the Note8 yet, but trying to force the sale before even checking to see if they could fix my phone MAJORLY irritated me. Yeah, you want sales, but I didn't want to be pushed into something I didn't want and get next to nothing for the Note5 I was losing (which I loved and honestly still miss.) Just go to Verizon or Target Tech. They're MUCH nicer, so much less pressure- so much so we actually bought a new tablet for my husband at the Verizon store cuz the guy just talked to him instead of trying to force the sale. I talked to someone who used to work in this store shortly after this and he said it's pretty much standard to just maul you in information and push the sale immediately. Sooo... they gdt a 2 because one of the other workers was nice, and they do seem to know about the products they sell- but don't go there unless you like high...
Read moreI had the pleasure of working with Sara. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable. I myself am not very tech savvy, however Sara took her time with me and answered all of my questions (and believe me I had PLENTY) and explained in a way that I could understand. Often times a representative can talk miles over your head and use all kinds of flashy words that mean absolutely nothing to you. I did not feel at all like she was just trying to “make the sale” and rush me through the process to get me done and out the door. When asked, she offered her opinion from her own personal experiences with the iPhone. She was very down to earth and made my experience a very positive and even enjoyable one. I also spoke with her Co-worker Nate. He too was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. It almost felt as though I was “hanging out with friends” Both Sara and Nate remained very professional while also making me feel welcome and confident in the purchase I was making. Nate shared some of his knowledge and personal experiences with his mobile phone as well. I hope when I return to this particular store that I am fortunate enough to be able to work with these 2. I am in customer service myself and have been for years. You should be proud to have each of them representing your business. I will encourage everyone I know to go to this store with their mobile needs. You will NOT be disappointed! I look forward to visiting them in the future. A+ To Sara and Nate! Great job and keep up the fantastic...
