This review is geared and specifically for the pharmacy at Lake St. Louis Walgreens. Customers aren't calling the pharmacy to chit chat- we are generally calling to get status information about life saving or life healing medications that are prescribed from a DR or an approved licensed provider. After waiting 4 hours for an update via text or phone regarding the status of medications, we decided to call. Only to have the person on the other end answer as she stated her NAME was "Walgreens Pharmacy" place me on HOLD for 5 rotations of ringing then firmly picking up and placing AGAIN with hold music, with no explanation as to WHY I is was holding and only to find out they haven't checked their automated system for prescriptions that had been called in and the closed in 30 minutes. She proceeded to say they would need to call the urgent care or hospital (not paying attention ) from where the prescription was called the pain medicine wasn't annotated properly. I said you close in 30 minutes, how do you plan on getting this taken care if in that time? She said that's I was trying to do when she had placed me on the hold, for the 5 rotations with no explanation. She should have mentioned that! At that point, I asked if I could send my husband there to get the antibiotic that was needed for the infection. She said they would get working on that now, but they closed now in 20 minutes. All of these issues could have bee resolved from the very beginning if they would have answered their automated system from DR's calling in medications. It's not like they were short handed, 6 people were working that day! My family will never fill a prescription...
Read moreI have had a lot of issues with this place. Not sure it's specific to the location or what. It seems like it always takes 2 or 3 tries to refill something through their app. My refill request will just be gone when I check the status the next day and I have to redo it. Or the system will try to refill with 3 months and cause it to sit in limbo with an 'insurance delay' instead of someone just updating it to a 30-day supply. It seems like common sense and I have no control over the quantity when I request it. I have to call every time almost to just request this update. I'm not sure why no one bothers to contact me or let me know when there is an issue.
One time I went there recently and there was no pharmacist on duty at all so I couldn't pick up anything (not the lunch break). It's not like they could even transfer it to a different pharmacy since only a pharmacist can do that. Only another Walgreens.
It's annoying and consistently aggravating enough that I'm just having everything transferred to a...
Read moreI was sent to this store because they were the only Walgreens that had my brand name medication I needed. When I got there and dropped it off the Pharmacy said it would be 20 min. We went on to another store just to be called 10 min later being told they were 3 pills short of what I needed. I was told another store had gotten a shipment of the medication and I could take my script there. I returned to pick up my script and went to the suggested store. I was then told that they (store 3) didn't have the brand name medication and hadn't in a long time. The pharmacist remember the other store calling and they never asked for the brand name medication so the new pharmacy assumed it could be filled with generic thus saying they had it. I was very displeased because I had to go to 3 stores just to find out they couldn't get me the full 30 day supply of the brand...
