We got egg rolls, pepper steak, white rice, egg drop soup, and chicken teriyaki (total: $32.67 for food cost, delivery charge: $3 and $5 tip)
We're 1.1 miles away
Food was piping hot when delivered and delivered in a timely manner.
Comparatively to other Chinese food in the greater Saint Louis area: it's pretty awful. I had to eat something from home to make sure I could still taste food as my pepper steak had little to no flavor. Even the onion was muted. There was very little "sauce". There was also some kind of pepper kernel or season thing that (was clearly not meant to be there) I bit into and it was the most horrible taste and I had to spit it out. The rest of it was fully bland.
We let the egg drop cool as it was scalding hot, but, it just tasted like hot water.
Egg rolls were decent.
White rice wasn't sticky - actually pretty watery for some reason???? It was very weird.
Chicken Teriyaki was actually pretty dang 👍 good.
All in all, it was still edible. I've ordered from here several times and it's usually mid. This was awful.
Probably won't eat there again for a long time until I forget this experience and...
Read moreFor good General Tso's chicken in the Lake STL and Ofallon area, look no further. I tried Happy China and Green China around here and their 'chicken' was more like 'chicken meat balls', no slight crunch whatsoever, and not savory. Use plastic Tupperware containers at the time of writing which is super convenient. I always get the General Tso's combo where ever I go. The menu doesn't mention crabrangoons as an option but I've always ask and have never NOT gotten them. The only location as good as this is in the Ballwin area. WARNING: The lady I usually interact with has a very thick accent. She is very nice and has never gotten an order wrong though. Also this is a small family restaurant so you may notice kids keeping to themselves playing games or what not near the counter. The excellent value of the meal will more than make up for this if you are the type of person to be bothered by that. But you should also feel good that you're supporting a local, family run establishment.... in fact I'll probably start paying in cash so that they don't have to pay the credit card...
Read moreThis place used to be amazing. Unfortunately COVID ruined them. The exchange of money and food is down right bizarre, shes putting on gloves and a mask through a strange home made wall with a sliding door to get the food out of. It's almost comical if it wasn't so sad. But the biggest problem is the prices. This is not a fine dining experience, but their prices reflect something you would expect from a sit down steak house. The biggest problem I have is that the pricing on their website is DATED, and inaccurate. The prices are so much higher, and since you can't place an order online, you don't know how much it is until you go to pick up. I ordered food for my family of 5, we would typically spend about $45... My total was $80. Not worth it, at all. We...
