Sushi Sen — Restaurant in Lake Saint Louis

Have been looking forward to trying this place since moving here a few years ago.

Overall really nice inside, sat right down and ordered quickly. Then we waited, and waited. I am not normally this guy. I empathize when you get busy and only have 2 servers running around like crazy but people started to get their food who ordered after us.

When our food finally came out, 2 sushi rolls and chicken teriyaki, my wife's chicken was cold and so were the veggies. The sushi was good. The service was not great. Not a single drink refill and once we were done 'eating', wife didn't even want to finish half her cold meal, we had to sit and wait again just to pay and leave.

I get being busy but this place is not that big maybe 10-12 tables in the entire place. Just really disappointed cause I really wanted to...

I'm going to update my last review..we went here for dinner for the 2nd time. 1st time not that bad, this time..again, not greeted at door. Walked around the corner to ask and was told to sit anywhere. Ok.. Service was super slow. All but 2 tables were clean. They stayed dirty the whole hour or so that we were there. Used the bathroom...disgusting! So filthy! I gotta say, if this is how you keep your place in public view, what are your procedures for food storage and your sushi prep areas? I mean?!? Do better at cleaning that place up and keeping it clean during open hours. It was literally gross. Defeats the purpose of you spending all this money on disposable plates/cups etc if you can't keep this place clean...

As some background, my wife and I have lived in many places that have very fresh Sushi. We have been to places in the Midwest and typically enjoy the food and atmosphere but no sushi restaurant has really knocked our socks off. Additionally, we haven’t been pickup customers normally.

We ordered pickup from Sushi Sen a couple weeks back. We ordered the Vegas Roll and the Sunset Roll.

1. It was ready in 10 minutes
2. It was by far, the best sushi I have ever had. The sushi was very tender and the flavor was vibrant.

And this was a pickup order (I don’t think sushi travels in the car very well).

I wholeheartedly recommend this place. We will continue to eat here and I look forward...
