Ándale Market is a super cute bodega with an emphasis on local, sustainable, and artisanal items. They manage to squeeze a lot of great stuff in a tiny space: pantry goods, kitchen cookbooks and accessories, body care and period products, candles, a chocolate, charcuterie and cheese cooler, fun bevvies cooler, fresh flowers, and freshly made Public Quality Bread. My favorite product to buy here is Chilee Oil, the spicy version of their premium recipe (which used avocado oil). I like knowing that, when I buy it here, I’m supporting not just one but two great local small businesses. The store has a well-deserved reputation of supporting the community. When Foxtrot unexpectedly closed their Chicago storefronts earlier this year and left their vendors with unpaid invoices and surplus product, Ándale invited impacted local vendors to use their patio space for pop-up markets. It was such a wholesome display of community care in a cut-throat capitalist world that can I rarely see as a consumer. The one recommendation and opportunity for improvement I have to offer: the front entry is not wheelchair ♿️ accessible because there is a step at the threshold that is too tall to cross with most mobility aids. It would be great to see this turned into an accessible up-ramp with an automatic door.

Simply said, this is the cutest and friendliest shop you will ever set foot in. The staff and owner are beyond incredible and genuine individuals who are so knowledgeable about the products. They curate and incredible range of items in which you’ll find everything you never know you needed. I’m so glad to see something like this come to the area, especially because of the people that made it happen. One of my absolute favorite spots in the neighborhood!

I’m always excited to make my trek across town specifically to visit this Andersonville neighborhood gem. The shelves are lively and curated and spark the imagination. It feels like ages since Ive traveled but the world-ranging products found on these market shelves take me back, let me reminisce and also spark the imagination to take new staples and treats home. It’s the perfect selection to stock your pantry, find an “I deserve it” or assemble a fun selection to let someone know that they are just as special to you (the gifting options are immense!). I love that the shelves are largely arranged as a bit of a world map. Gift-giving Italiano? Several shelves will readily relate. World-wide wonder? Pick one from each shelf and you won’t be disappointed.

Take some time, Andale won’t rush you, instead enjoy the journey (from front to back,...

I absolutely adore Andale Market. It is a hidden gem and a wonderful addition to the Andersonville neighborhood.

For a small space, they have an awesome and eclectic mix of foods and personal goods. It's a bodega after my millennial heart. Great curated selection of ingredients, spices, jams, coffees, teas, personal goods, and (best of all) everything you could need for an impromptu cheese board!

The staff is always welcoming and incredibly friendly. The owner is a delight. Stop in next time you're in the area and support her business! You're sure to find something to elevate your next...
