I had a liquid gel set done yesterday and absolutely loved my entire experience. It was priced fairly at $35 and I had done my research to make sure I was going to receive a true gel application. Many nail salons do not utilize the actual gel product because of the cost and amount of time it takes to apply and cure on the nails, but I don't care for acrylic and "gel powder" is not true gels. I called ahead to make sure it was the service I was looking for and was very happy to learn they offered it. It is best to make an appointment so the technician knows that you are coming and can begin your service at the time that is allotted for you. The shop is quaint, quiet and impeccably clean. They have only been opened for 5 weeks now and have a small number of stations, but I like that it's not a nail "chop shop" and the technicians take their time with you and make sure that you are completely happy with your service. The owner performed my liquid gel service and I was impressed with her professional approach and gentle technique with the nail application and was careful not to drill too much on the nail bed or cause cuts along my cuticles. All of their tools were sterilized and she even had another employee help clean up in between the steps to make sure there wouldn't be cross contamination. This was the best nail salon experience I have ever had in Lakeland and I will for sure be back. I'm spreading the word, Nails Bar and Spa is the...
Read moreI have visited this salon in the past with no issues. I scheduled an appointment for my wedding nails last Thursday and got gel extensions. I noticed the tech did not put the tip flush against the edge of my nail bed at the time. When I asked, she said she was going to put polish there. I figured this is maybe just another kind of technique and went with it. I know I am not an expert on nails and have never otherwise had a bad experience.
On Saturday, about 48 hours after my appointment, I was getting ready to walk down the aisle when I noticed one of my nails was already lifting. Thankfully, my maid of honor had nail glue, but by the next day, 3 of my nails had come off (despite me not doing anything remotely damage-inducing to them). 2 more have come off since, so in just over a week, half of my nails are gone. They all appear to be coming off in full—specifically at the point where just polish was added.
I called this morning to ask for a refund and was told they can only be given within 48 hours. They did offer to do my nails again at a discount, but couldn’t tell me what it would be, just that it would be at least 10%. I am unwilling to pay again to lose half my nails within a week. I am very disappointed. Edited to add after reading the salon’s comment: I get Gel-X monthly and have never experienced an issue like...
Read moreI am using my boyfriends account to write this as I usually do not write reviews. I came in to get a fill on my nails, I came in around 5:15 and was told it would be a 30-45 min wait. I was fine with this and waited, when it was my turn I sit down they start to close up which I understand as they were not busy at all and it was raining. The woman who was doing my fill was then rushing to leave. I walked out with the tips of my nails crooked and not fully painted in some areas as well as the jewels on my nails also crooked. I felt rushed as she was the only one left in the salon, other than the woman waiting with her to leave. After the rushed service it did not feel like there was any reason to complain at this point. If you looked at the nails from far away they looked okay and honestly I am not that picky and didn’t feel the need to make a big deal. The problem I have is 2 days later one of my nails fell off, 2 days after that another nail fell off. It has been a little over a week and I am now missing 3 nails. Mind you my nails normally easily last me 3 weeks. I will not be coming back here, I was extremely disappointed in my fill. I will give 2 stars as everyone here was extremely kind unfortunately the services are just...
