Piggly Wiggly — Local services in Lancaster

Horrible experience, rude and inappropriate staff. I went there the other day to buy groceries for my home, I knew the exact balance on my debit card right before I went into the store, the card was declined. I went all the way home to get my check book, that was declined, I check my account again nothing was wrong. It was a hard enough situation trying to figure out what was wrong and one older staff lady with white hair and glasses was very rude when speaking to me when it was obvious I was crying and trying to gather myself. And there was a younger male staff member who was very inappropriate around my little sister and I. He was being heavily flirtatious with both of us and when he helped unload our items on to the belt again he was trying to be as close as possible to either of us it was very inappropriate and creepy especially since my little sister is under age. When my fiance came later to the store to try the card again it worked we didnt change or do anything so whatever happened and everything that happened was because of the store and their rude and very inappropriate staff. Last I knew it was a grocery store not a farmyard....

I want to start out by saying checking out with Michelle would have given this review 5bstars. She was phenomenal! She was sweet, kind, and very understanding of my situation! I had gotten a new card due to fraudulent chargers previously. My card kept declining and I went to call my bank, Michelle was kind enough to turn her light off so the other customers weren't waiting. Thats when the pint size manager showed up and metioned Michelle's light being off. Michelle explained the situation and the manager got a very bad attitude. When I got everything fixed and came back Michelle asked if the manager wanted to take me up front to check me out, I asked that it didn't happen. The manager made me feel degraded and beneath her for something so simple. I will definitely be back but only for Michelle. Someone should rethink the micro manager. Bad customer service on her part. I'd like to add that the store was not busy and there was another cashier. I usually love piggly wiggly but this experience left me...

The only reason this place does any business is because it is the only option within 20 minutes. Produce is bad most times. Prices are higher than even most mom and pop places. They can't even figure out how to keep the deli open to slice meat and cheese late enough for people who work even 9-5/8-4, so for people who work 12 hr shifts, too bad so sad. I'm not a fan of Walmart, but at this point it is more than worth the drive. Heck I'll start making the 30-40 minute...
