While I love this natural foods store, I recently had an unfortunate event there that displayed poor customer service. I returned a vial of unused CBD oil which I no longer needed since our poor old dog passed away. I received a receipt for the refund and left the store. When my VISA bill arrived the next month, the refund of $54.95 had been reversed by the store without my knowledge. I complained to VISA only to learn that the owner, Melissa had allegedly lied to my credit card company saying I had been informed about the reversal of the refund on the very day that I had returned the CBD oil. Nice storefront but I purchased food items this morning and they were 6 months expired. Thinking they made a mistake and missed a product rotation (apparently not) I returned to the store and though polite was told they do not accept returns, even though the food is significantly out of date. Poor policy to not have any exceptions and I'm surprised they are not selling items quickly enough to not have things that expired in March on thier shelves. Staff is friendly enough but should have mentioned that the items were not in date when I was buying. It was a discounted item (I thought it was on sale). I will likely not...

The Root Seller is an absolute treasure, providing access to top quality, healthy food, much of it locally produced. The service is excellent. Melissa and her crew are people of intelligence and integrity, always a pleasure to see or, in these covid days, talk with them by phone. The online ordering and curbside service they are now offering are priceless. That's the same adjective that fits the contribution they are making to the community...
