The Granite Grind — Restaurant in Lancaster

Update in response to the owner's reply: Where is your accountability? The bottom line is that I paid for a product that you offer, and I received something that was unsatisfactory and not made as advertised. And, FYI, a Grande at Starbucks is a medium. My French Bulldogs are named Venti and Trenta, so I don't need to be educated, thanks. Again, you would not be selling lattes for $6 if Starbucks hadn't paved the way for your small business, so perhaps you should write them a letter thanking them, and learn how to make a proper latte. Your lack of customer service skills are exemplified in your defensive response to my review. Enough said.

After reading the great reviews, I stopped in while passing through town. First, the service was haphazard and disorganized; there was a lot of confusion. Their large lattes are only 16 ounces, but that is the case with many smaller coffee shops, so I won't hold it against them. They do not offer nonfat milk or sugar-free syrups. My order was taken by someone who appeared to be the owner, then she passed me off to a younger girl who clearly had no idea what she was doing. There was one other patron in the cafe, and I still waited 20 minutes for two lattes to be made - absolutely unacceptable. Once I left, we discovered the lattes tasted plain horrible. One was supposed to be maple and one vanilla. We couldn't tell which was which, and they both tasted bitter and unflavored. We were so disappointed. The kicker is that their prices are high, similar to Starbucks, which would be fine - I LOVE Starbucks; they are the gold standard. A lot of these smaller places don't like to hear that, but the fact of the matter is they wouldn't be in business if Starbucks hadn't done it first. We popped in one morning and ordered pancakes for the kids to split and 2 breakfast sammies and some coffee.

Unfortunately, about an hour later they brought us 2 orders of pancakes that belonged to someone else (I only know because they gave them the 1 order and their Mom was confused) and our breakfast sandwiches never showed up.

3 times they came out with different food and brought it to our numbered table, and we reminded them we were just waiting for the sandwiches.

The kids ate, we waited, and the sammies never showed up :/

I know staffing all over is an issue and there was some major confusion going on within the restaurant, but I was pretty disappointed overall, especially seeing other sandwiches brought out to people that got there 30...

First my complaints. It was very cold in the restaurant, also the menu did not list that sides came with the sandwiches we got, and the service was pretty slow. Also the lady who took our order was a little short with my 90 year old grandmother when she was trying to order. She asked for the types of bread and the lady told her to look at the board, when asking what type of tea she sounded annoyed that she had to answer her question. All that being said my Ruben was excellent, it had the perfect proportions of all of the ingredients. My Cole slaw was literary the best I have ever tasted.
