Variety Meats — Local services in Laredo

Just like everything else these days. Prices have gone up!

More than a year reporting these issues are making slow progress.

The meat section only had a few tags missing this time. The tags indicating the price per pound and the type of meat. The butchers are still very friendly.

Many items in the store like tortillas, hamburger buns or empanadas from Mexico are still missing price tags on the product or on the shelf. [Not good!]

Some prices matched HEB and Walmart, especially with raw chicken, but afterwards other items were marked up and may well surpass the price you can get at a bigger state or nationwide store. Roma tomatoes will cost you 1 dollar more per pound here. Remember, it still qualifies as a mid-level convenience grocery store.

They still may not carry your favorite beer, soda, snack, etc. You'll figure that out after a few visits.

If you buy a lot of groceries during your visit, expect to get the groceries in multiple plastic bags. Keep your shopping cart handy, so you can carry everything to your vehicle. They don't & won't place your groceries in empty boxes, so you can easily carry them out. Unlike Specs liquor stores. [The rabbit liquor store.]

Some of their current staff is very friendly and courteous!

Avoid going to buy meat to grill on a Saturday or Sunday prior to a big holiday. The line will be long, so either shop a day early or try going at 7 am on Sunday morning while most customers are still at home.

The store gets decent marks for cleanliness and a variety of imported goods from Mexico or other Texas locations. Good Job!!

Como todo lo demás estos días. ¡Los precios han subido!

Más de un año denunciando estos problemas avanzan lentamente.

A la sección de carnes solo le faltaban algunas etiquetas esta vez. Las etiquetas indican el precio por libra y el tipo de carne. Los carniceros siguen siendo muy amables.

A muchos artículos de la tienda, como tortillas, panes de hamburguesa o empanadas de México, todavía les faltan etiquetas de precio en el producto o en los estantes. [¡No es bueno!]

Algunos precios igualaban a HEB y Walmart, especialmente con el pollo crudo, pero luego otros artículos fueron marcados y bien pueden superar el precio que se puede conseguir en una tienda más grande a nivel estatal o nacional. Los tomates roma te costarán 1 dólar más por libra aquí. Recuerde, todavía califica como una tienda de comestibles de nivel medio.

Came to buy some meat & was putting on my face mask as we are required to do. I was standing right in front of my car which was i front of the entrance.. once I walked to the line I was told It was closed even though she saw me doing what we were required to do before getting in line. When I go to get in line employee STEPHANIE tells me it’s closed & I mention to her she saw me putting my mask on right in front of her and she had the nerve to reply “yeah, it doesn’t matter.” Would leave zero stars if I could... prontos meat...

It’s already happened twice where I buy expired cheese and tortillas, they don’t throw out the old things. So be careful and check the expiration date before you pay, last time I did and when I told the cashier she didn’t even apologize she just looked at me waiting for me to go change the product. Also one of the young girl cashiers looks like she hates her job, she never greets anyone and when you ask her for something she makes a face. Good meat just...
