Terrible, apathetic service ruin a otherwise good meal. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! Visiting Laredo from San Antonio and hearing of the hoopla surrounding the opening of La Laguna near The Rim, I had high hopes of eating at this location. I've visited La Laguna several times in my past Laredo trips, most recent in February, and have seen the decline in service and quality of experience. On this visit during a steady Sunday night (not busy at all) the server wore her mask under her nose while she randomly walked up to our table of four and muttered "Drinks." No hello, introduction, name, or welcome... Just "Drinks" Four waters ordered, four bottles of HILL COUNTRY bottle water dropped off at the table with chips and 2 sauces. We were still looking over the menu so asked for a minute... 15 mins later she returns to rudely take our order, "What do you want." We order then asked for more chips and she said ok. After 12 mins of waiting for chips I went to the front to tell a guy that our service was terrible as the server disappeared again. He asked another server to take us chips, which came out promptly. Maybe 5 mins later the first plate of food is brought out. Seven mins later 2 more plates of food are brought out. The server asks if everything looks good and I ask about my plate, she looks at me like i was crazy for asking for food at a restaurant then asks what I ordered. I look at her amazed that she didnt realize an entire plate if food is missing. She checks her pad and disappears for over 10 minutes. Another person brings out the plate. It took over 30 minutes for my food to come out!!! She forgot to put in my food order!!! I thought of complaining again but the front desk didnt care the first time I complained. When the bill came out, we were charged $2 for each HILL COUNTRY bottle of water!!! This place is a RIP off and a joke! I'm not one to rant and complain but this was the last straw. The manager removed the waters and we were charged for the food, which is perfect. I will never return to La Laguna nor recommend it. Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreWhat can i say... I am severely and utterly disappointed about what I had for lunch today. It was not at this particular location but its sister location by Jaime Zapata Memorial Highway. Where should I start? Ah, yes... Water! Does it really take 10 minutes to serve two glasses of water?! Rice! Well, it tasted like some kind of rice but that that is service with sushi! The texture of it was that of clumpy mashed potatoes! Word to the Wise! You use cold bowled rice to make fried rice!!!! NO flavor whatsoever... Mundane for lack of better words! As for the California roll that I was served... I have had better sushi at HEB than this. I'm sorry for being so critical but I just don't think that what I ate was worth $23 of my hard earned money. It is the smallest things that really count with me and this place does not take care of their smallest insignificant item on their menu. Belch Oh my! I just got a second taste of nothing! NOTHING! Yes, the decor was nice... the lawn furniture used as indoor furniture was creative and some of the log cabin touches here and there were homey but aside from that, the best of this meal were the dressings and the complimentary chips! I believe I should have left it at that and not ordered anything else! Ah, yes... I had me a 12 ounce glass of lemonade that lacked the lemon! $2.50 for a small glass of lemonade with a cherry in it... Next time I'll just make my own with the lemons that come with the sushi dressings. Well, I leave you with this tidbit of advice. If you are looking for good rice to go with your good sushi don't come to this place....
Read moreOne of the best places to eat seafood in Laredo. The prices are a bit high but also the portions are very decent. The service is nice and fast. To eat we got several items to try out as much as we could, every main dish comes with 2 sides of choice (Vegetables, salad, fries or rice), first we got the Chicharrón de Pescado, that came with a cocktail sauce, the Chicharrón was extremely good, a bit crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the flavor was just perfect. We also got the Tacos de Camarón al Pastor, which was a very original flavor, we liked it a lot. Moreover, we ordered the Enchiladas Verdes de Marlin which were very good as well, the sauce was very tasty, the marlin seemed to have a little of cumin which some people don't like but it was not a problem for us. Finally we got the Barquito mixto which is basically a ceviche with octopus, shrimp and fish, it was good although not as tasty as the other dishes, but we put on some lime juice and sauces which ended up making it way better. To drink we got some Micheladas which were very good, originally they didn't include tomato juice (clamato) but we asked for it and they...
