I started ordering from Fifer Hobby in early 2017 since they had very competitive prices on specific flex track that I was interested in including a bulk pricing option that made the price extremely attractive. Subsequent purchases were handled quickly and professionally and when I had questions the turnaround time via email was extremely fast and courteous. The Fifer Hobby website makes purchasing quick and easy with inventory counts next to each product to assist the shopper along with descriptions of the product and links to manufacturers' websites should you require additional information.
In addition, Mike's YouTube segments on his layout, how to videos, and product reviews are a treasure of information and advice for the new, novice, and experienced modeler.
All in all, Fifer Hobby is an excellent model railroad retailer, a valued resource to the modeler, and a true friend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI haven't the disposible income I once did, so I don't order from Mik nearly often enough, but was amazed and so pleased when I place an order the Sunday of a long weekend and moments later got a call from Robin wanting to double check my order. She also apologized that it wouldn't be going out Monday because it's a holiday. I assured her that I compketely understood and thanked her for even calling on a Sunday to check the order at all.
Mike isn't just the owner of a well stocked, successful business, he also has a Youtube Chanel I've been watching for years! In fact the only reason I knew about his business is because he mentined that he's not just a hobbiest, but a hobby shop that has all the stuff I need when I need it. His prices are always great, and he puta the sane kind of care into the business that he puts into his own trains.
You just can't go wrong with Fifer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently ordered an N scale S2 locomotive from Fifer Hobbies. First off, very fast shipping. I received my locomotive two days after ordering.Secondly, I had some questions about the locomotive. Iām running it on Kato Unitrack with DC power. The locomotive is DCC equipped with sound, but I didnāt get the sound. I called Mike at Fifer Hobbies about the issue. He explained that in DCC, I would have to select no. 8 on the cab to turn on sound. Since Iām running on DC, Iāll probably have to take it to a Model RR hobby store who may be able to switch the sound on with DCC. I also had questions about motive power maintenance. He offered many suggestions that were very helpful. This is customer service done in a superb fashion!!! Fifer Hobbies has got a new and loyal...
