The server was very nice, the food was not, there is no atmosphere. It's like you walked into a restaurant that was closed. Somebody opened it and threw some tables in there. It looks very unfinished. The enchilada was tough, skimpy and had very little cheese in it. The tamale was obviously out of a can. The taco was so tough, you could hardly bite it. The chili relleno was tiny, naked and I'm not sure there was really anything in it. The green salsa was delicious, but the chips were so thick and so hard. You couldn't hardly chew them. I really was disappointed because I wanted to eat here for so long but after I did and after I talked to friends, they told me they stopped eating there years ago. Also, the prices are really high especially for what you get, the plate looks big, it's not, it's tiny.

The food here is very good. I like that there is no corporate feel. The food tastes fresh and more like home cooking. The food is more made to order. Doesn't taste like frozen food out of the freezer. The staff is all very nice. The chips and salsa are good. I love that animals are NOT allowed in the restaurant, certified service animals only!! They make sure electronic devices are at a reasonable volume. I hate going to a restaurant and every kid has a tablet on full volume, so annoying. They also ask for electronic devices to have sound turned down so other customers are disturbed. It's great 👍

We ordered a combination plate and a chicken flauta plate. Presentation of food was ok. The beans and rice were the highlight and so was friendly staff. My red enchiladas were a little stiff, had to use knife to cut through, I prefer them to be a little softer to be able to cut with fork. The chicken flautas were so so and were better at another place, according to my daughter. We followed up with some sopapillas which were good. I enjoyed that place is very clean and the menus are under the glass table top to easily access and hands free.

Hands down, the worst Mexican food we have eaten in Las Cruces since 1970. The flour tortilla on my relleno burrito was hard as a rock, as soon as it came to the table. Furthermore, it was dry with nothing in it-no cheese, or chile spread, or beans inside the burrito. The corn tortillas in our rolled enchiladas were like carboard-had to use a knife to literally chisel a piece from the enchilada. When we attempted to voice our food complaint with one of the long-time waiters, she immediately became very defensive and very ugly. It was clear that she was insinuating that we didn't know what we were talking about and we were lying. She stated that nothing has changed and no one else had complained. I said to her, "I don't care about everyone else, I'm telling you about what we experienced with the food". That sent her into the abyss, and she actually turned around and stormed off to the back, leaving us standing at the register counter. I read some of the recent reviews and one reported that the flour tortillas were like carboard and another had to cut the enchiladas with a knife because they were tough. So, the waiter's argument that nothing has changed and no one else complained is obviously not the case. Generations of my family have been eating at the Spanish kitchen for years. I do not know what is more disappointing to us with our experience today; the terrible food quality or dealing with such an ugly and repulsive waiter at the check out counter. The owner needs to start listening to the patrons and improve the food quality, as well as considering bringing in new wait staff that treat people with kindness and respect. LISTEN TO YOUR PATRONS BEFORE YOU END UP GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!! WE WILL...

Absolutely Discriminatory and Inhumane Treatment!! Avoid This Place at All Costs

If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

I visited this restaurant recently with my fully trained and legally recognized service dog, who assists me with a serious medical condition. My dog had the service vest, and I even carried documentation, which, by law, I’m not even required to present.

Despite all of this, the staff told me I would not be served and was not welcome in their restaurant. They had a printed piece of paper that says we refuse the right to allow service animals in.

I tried to explain my condition and the necessity of my dog, but they doubled down and kicked me out in front of other customers. It was humiliating, degrading, and absolutely illegal.

This kind of ableist behavior is unacceptable, and I will be reporting them to the proper authorities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). No one should be treated like this for managing a disability and relying on a service animal for safety and independence.

If you value basic human decency, DO NOT support a business that discriminates against people with...

My sister and I had dinner at the Spanish Kitchen tonight, this week was my choice. She had the Tacos and I had one of my favorites, chile rellenos. They were quite good, small but good. You get two, maybe 5 inch. My sister liked the tacos but said it was the first time she had them deep fried. And they were also on the small side. You get three. I liked the refried beans, she said the rice was excellent, I do not care much for Spanish rice so I always tell them to skip the rice on my plate. We were the only ones there, a couple came in as we were leaving. On a Friday night ? Of course they give you chips, not one of my favorites either but my sister likes them. She said the thin green salsa was hot, (she likes her salsa hot, hot, hot), but tasteless. $20.00 plus tip for both. So although some of it was very good, albeit small, I do not think I would recommend...
