I took my Chrysler T and C here to address transmission issues. One of my transmission lines/hoses failed and leaked fluid all over the road, causing loss of power, burning smell, and engine vibration.
Out of caution I had stopped driving had the the lines replaced at home and looked around for a shop that didn't have multiple bad reviews. I don't trust auto shops but I found Red Rock Repair and called them.
In the beginning the customer service was great and Danielle made the process seamless. I called Thursday and set up their earliest appointment which was the following Wednesday. Little far away but I trusted the reviews even though being without a car was a problem, I trusted the quick service.
I had to get a rental $$$, and was hoping all would be finished quickly, so I could save some money on the rental and put more money towards any repair.
They finished the initial diagnostic on the following Thursday and I was told I would receive a call on Friday to go over the plan for the van. When I didn't get a call, I was concerned and called red Rock Repair but only got their voicemail. My vehicle was in for 3 days without any game plan, so I sent them a text and then my wife also called and also couldn't reach them. A whole weekend went by and when I didn't get a call by 9am on Monday I sent a text stating I wanted my vehicle back because I was growing concerned this would be dragged out too long and by the time they fixed I wouldn't be able to afford the rental that was already costing $900+. I just wanted my van back.
I called the shop and spoke to Shaun who informed me the staff was sick and or had the flu and that is the reason for the lack of update. While this was a decent explanation, it didn't help us that we were out of timely vehicle repair that was already four business days in. Longer the wait, the less money I could spend.
I was not happy about the situation but then they called me and turned it around and brought the charm. They stated they could fix my o2 sensor within the day since the transmission issue was just overfilled following the transmission line replacement. They apologized to me and you could tell they were doing everything they could to fix the situation. This is why they have good reviews, it seems like they care.
I have my vehicle back. They did a good job, the customer service was excellent when they weren't sick. Good people, but just unfortunate that I had to put more into a rental, when I would've liked to spend...
Read moreThis place is terrible. They charged me $610 for a MAP sensor for a Toyota Camry after explaining that they would not install cheaper, aftermarket parts. I understand that part, but when I called the Toyota dealership, I was told that the high-quality factory MAP sensor only costs $390. I was basically charged $220 to have the part shipped from a few blocks down the street.
Also, I was charged $300 for 2.8 hours of labor (at $105/hour) to install the part. I call the place at 2:45pm to ask if the car is ready. The owner explains that the part just arrived and the car should be ready in about an hour. I get a call 45 minutes later saying the car is ready to go. How is it that I am charged for nearly 3 hours of labor when my phone records clearly indicate that the job took less than 1 hour to complete?
Multiple times while I was waiting at the shop, I inquired as to the seemingly large price for such a small part. Every other explanation I got was as full of holes as the last one. Maybe they are used to ripping off suckers, but I've been to college and I can do basic arithmetic.
My only mistake was being desperate enough to need my car to get to work, or else I never would have done business with this place. All in all, they overcharged me by about $400. It's too bad business owners do not understand that it's cheaper to keep a customer than it is to gain one. If they hadn't ripped me off, I would be returning every time I need work done. Instead, I have contacted the BBB, the State Automotive Repair Regulatory Body, and Channel 13 News to file a complaint against this...
Read moreUnfortunately this is a review on the after effects. RRR was very accomodating when i called in for what i thought was a broken power motor for front left window. After dropping off they realized it was not the motor but another piece- my labor quote was 138 and quickly jumped to 638 once they had my vehicle and it was no choice but to keep it to fix the appropriate piece. Fast foward I pay, pick up my car and i automatically realize it was not done properly- i know longer had ability to automatically raise the window and there was a draw back when it came to the top, along with my panel no longer being straight but indented and then my interior handle disconnected (cant say if it is related or not) well i call Monday morning and they said i would have to pay an additonal 200 to get my window TESTED after going back and forth stating no it was not finished properly they confidently said it was another piece malfunctioning... which means when they tested they knew it wasnt working properly but did not disclose this information upon pick-up. I was very disappointed and the receptionist didnt even offer for me to bring it in for them to diagnose it. I was excited to find a close auto place for my car but saidly i do not trust this business and now im faced with more issues now then i did prior to dropping it off and $1000+ dollars later they had the adacity to say i need to pay $199 to TEST my window. What?! Yeah...
