In the heart of Laurel, where the whispers of the past mingle with the footsteps of the present, there stands a store that is more than just a repository of goods. Laurel Mercantile Co., a place where American craftsmanship is not just celebrated but given a stage to shine.
The story begins on a typical Mississippi day, the sun a relentless overseer in the sky. A traveler, weary from the road and seeking respite, finds themselves drawn to the warm glow of the Mercantile. The storefront, unassuming yet inviting, promises treasures within.
As the bell above the door announces the traveler's entry, they are greeted not by the chill of commerce but by the warmth of a community hub. The air is thick with the scent of wood and history, and the shelves are lined with goods that speak of durability and time-honored tradition.
The traveler, a connoisseur of the unique, finds their gaze caught by the intricate designs of heirloom wares, the kind that are passed down through generations. Each item in the store tells a story, from the sturdy furniture that seems to whisper tales of the trees from which they came, to the delicate glassware that glints like jewels under the store's soft lighting.
But it is not just the products that weave a narrative; it is the people. The staff, with smiles as genuine as the goods they sell, move about with a grace that speaks of a love for their work. They are not mere employees; they are artisans and advocates of the Mercantile's mission to bring quality American-made products to the hands of those who appreciate them.
The traveler, feeling as though they have stepped into a novel where every turn of the page reveals a new delight, finds themselves lost in the charm of the Mercantile. They leave with a purchase, a token of their journey, and a story etched into their memory.
As the traveler steps back into the sunlight, the Mercantile behind them stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of American craftsmanship. It is a place that deserves not just a visit, but a chapter in the story of anyone who crosses its threshold.
And so, the traveler pens a four-star review, not as a critique, but as an acknowledgment that while perfection is a rare commodity, the Laurel Mercantile Co. comes delightfully close. It is a beacon of quality and heart in the bustling town of Laurel, a must-visit for those who seek the extraordinary in...

I ordered a 'Ward 5' T-Shirt online and experienced problems with the delivery of my order. I ordered the goods in October and it got somehow stuck and lost at Customs. I am located in Canada. We exchanged very friendly and helpful emails a couple of times to discuss the situation. It was very clear by tracking the package that it arrived at customs but never left the location after. Eventually they fully reimbursed my order and promised me that they would try to send me my product after Christmas, once the holiday rush is over with. I received all my money back immediately.
In January they tried it again, sending me the same product but this time completely free!!. No charge was made to my credit card, just like they promised (even though I offered them to use my own FedEx account). It arrived today, after again experiencing delays/problems at customs. And when I received the goods, the box included a very nice additional gift to make up for the bad experience I had in 2020.
I never ended up receiving my order that was shipped in October. Tracking information proved that. After 5 months, I guess someone at Canada Border Services Agency is walking around in it.
Throughout the experience, the people at LMC were friendly, helpful, respectful and honourable. I will buy from them again,...
Read moreWe’ve met Ben and Erin a few times and they are so nice! My dad bought gifts for us for Christmas from their store and mine was a beautiful handmade Christmas ornament, I wanted Ben to sign it. On one of our trips home to MS we stopped by to get it signed. Ben was literally walking out the door to catch a flight to Chicago for business but he still took the time to speak to us and sign the ornament. It let me know how much he cares about people. I gave him a big hug, he’s really as tall as he looks like on the show! Both of their stores are an eclectic variety of items that are old south and remind me of my childhood growing up in Laurel and Jones county. Beautiful old paintings by various MS artist, beautiful pottery, an amazing collection of old maps, signs and prints, and many other items that really mean something to us Southern folks. Their candles are beyond amazing, there are many wonderful southern scents, they are a must have! As someone who was born and raised in Laurel, I really appreciate what they’ve done to restore our beautiful little town. Definitely stop by both stores...
