Wanted to check out a t-shirt, so I wanted to go into the store. I had my dog, not a service dog, so I asked if he could come in. I’m guessing one of the owners told me, “I would rather not” with so much disdain and malice, I felt so uncomfortable that I will not shop here again. I felt so I unwelcomed and disrespected. I understand that the owners may not want a dog in the store, it was the manner and what he said that solidified that I will not shop at the store again, which is a shame. If the owner said, “no sorry about that. Come see us another time,” It would have been welcoming, understanding, and encouraging me to come back to check out the t-shirts I was looking at. I absolutely love The Cotton Boll! ❤️ The owner always has such beautiful things. I never leave empty-handed! It's obvious she cares about her customers in her attention to detail when wrapping a gift or carrying the newest thing. The atmosphere is clean and smells so good with her candle selection! If you're lucky enough to shop when the owners are there, you'll get the full Laurel experience! Zane and Kelly love to help their customers and welcome all who come in the door as family. While Kelly can help you find what you're looking for, Zane will keep you in stitches with a story or two. We traveled to Laurel as my husband is. Big fan of the HGTV show. HomeTown. ..we visited the shoppes in the town and loved shopping at the Cotton Boll. The owner was so friendly and had many stories about the town and the people. I loved many of the items that were carried in the store that I hope I can order a few items that I saw in the store but was not able to pick up as the store was closed on Friday.
