It's one thing to SAY how great a business is but it's another thing to TELL you why. This is my first experience with a dog. We rescued 'Dexter' from SC and brought him home on Christmas Eve. With much effort, discipline, adaptation and adjustment put forth in welcoming him into our lives, a strong and unconditional bond was formed. Who knew I'd ever have a dog. Well he became my 'son' immediately. Being that important to me and loving him so much, I was naturally scared to death to leave him with anyone else for any amount of time especially not knowing what is going on behind my back. Obviously he wouldn't be able to tell me. I knew I was going to have to get my breaks to catch up on work, cleaning and just general responsibilities and that he would require some socialization. I sought out advise from professionals and decided to give Camp Bow Wow a try. From the moment I had orientation with my little boy, they staff was inviting, courteous, personable and understanding to my needs. Dexter has yet to show any signs of anxiety when picking up or dropping off other than excitement. This is comforting. With a vacation approaching quickly, I needed to be confident that they would love and care for my baby almost as good as I could. I was petrified that he would feel abandoned, alone, frightened and depressed. I crumbled and cried like a baby at drop-off. They encouraged me to download the app to watch him LIVE whenever I wanted. They were thorough and meticulous to learn about how to feed him, what makes him comfortable, what treats to give him and even if I wanted him groomed for pickup after boarding him. Naturally, after the week was over, I was ready to get him and anticipated seeing his reaction to going home. I expected a little detachment, resentment and lack of good behavior but I am proud to say I was so wrong. He was REFORMED. :) He was on a great schedule, well behaved, excited to see us, excited to go back for daycare and only positive minuscule changes in his behavior. Now, I forgot to mention in the beginning that he is a PUPPY and a lot of the efforts set forth are potty training. Since being home, we have NOT had a single set back or mess. (Knock on wood). My reservations about Camp Bow Wow have relinquished and I am so thankful that there is a place I can TRUST with my baby boy. Last but certainly not least, the prices are reasonable. The staff is professional and loving with my Dexter and the facility is immaculate! What more...
Read moreI started to send my puppy to Camp Bow Wow since January 2022 while she was still a puppy. I usually send her 3 or 4 times a week. I buy the 20 sessions pack all the time. On August 15th she was sent home because they couldn’t take more dogs. Fine, we made reservations for August 20th and from August 29th to September 2nd for day care. One day before I sent an email to confirm the reservation to make sure my dog could go. I get another answer that they cannot take my dog till September 3rd. They are not taking walk-ins. First of all, I am not a walk-in, I am a regular client that brings the dog in a regular basis. I asked the owner to resolve the issue because I had reservations, otherwise I was going to look for another place (I work and I need a reliable place) and write a review about my experience. I believe that when you pay for services, services should be provided. She resolved the issue, took my dog on Saturday and kicked me out of the place as soon as I got the dog back. (what????) Why did you bother to take the dog then? No refunds were issued. I guess she doesn’t value a regular costumer. She is making more money with the boarding dogs. Her lack of customer service and sympathy is an understatement. Back in January, I also had issues with her when I brought my puppy in the morning with a little bag of food. She didn’t even say good morning, said right way…. We don’t feed dogs here….. And I said that the manager during the first interview said to us that it could be done To be fair, I never had problems with the staff… they are nice, sweet and take loving care of the dogs. I just think the owner has extremely poor customer service skills, is completely unorganized and doesn’t have a plan B to deal with this kind of situation. She is just a cranky lady in...
Read moreI just had the interview for my chocolate lab yesterday, and I think this is one of the best options around for boarding or daycare. I have tried several others in the area for day care (we have not boarded him yet), and they were all decent, but I don't think they compare to Camp Bow Wow based on my first experience here. They gave me a tour and showed me the entire facility, which the other places I've tried refused to do. Everything was spotless and each employee was very professional. I love the fact that I can watch the cameras and ensure he is okay.
I only have two hesitations...One is that my sister previously brought her shih tzu there for a week while on vacation and he came home with a stomach bug and extremely dehydrated, however he is the type of dog that does not eat/drink and gets anxious when away from home. My dog has no issues eating or drinking, so I'm fine there- and I know it is always a risk for catching illness in a kennel. The other concern is that there is no grass, only turf for them to go to the bathroom, and I worry if my dog would know it's okay to go there or if he'd be holding in as long as he possibly can.
After the interview yesterday, I will 100% be taking My dog back to Camp Bow wow, despite the two concerns. While I don't enjoy leaving my dog elsewhere, I do feel comfortable with him at Camp Bow Wow and think it is my best option. He came home after the 4 hour interview happy and exhausted, he seemed like he really loved...
