My Grandsons (Mark and Khay-Ri) and I went here in the summer of 2017. We had a great time learning about the military experience. They have a lot of equipment that they use, from the different types of uniforms they wear, to the items they put in they're backpacks to carry with them in the field, and the different types of firearms, aircraft, and automobiles they use. My Grandsons were so excited and we took many pictures, I even got a shot of them with a female soldier while we were in our travels that day, and they recognized her from one of the pictures we saw on the wall earlier in the day. It was a lot of fun and excitement for them and me. I had wanted to see a picture of a Black Hawk. When it was Hurricane Sandy in NJ, I believe in 2012, I was living near by here and I saw a Black Hawk fly over my head, it was huge and it looked like something you would see in the movies. Lol. I thought I would at least see a picture of what I had saw that day. None the least, I would recommend the National Guard Militia Museum to anyone that is interested, there is a lot of history and excitement there. Please go and enjoy yourself...
Read moreI took my kids there to show them the tanks and the museum exceeded our expectations. The staff was great to my kids and there were a ton of exhibits to look at. It's easy to spend a couple hours here with all the displays, and we loved how the museum is set up in chronological order. It starts with Revolutionary War exhibits and when you finish the tour it's at the modern day Iraq displays. They have a lot of tanks and Howitzers on the grounds that you can walk right up to. My kids met Joe from the staff that day and he was an amazing source of knowledge whenever they had any questions about an exhibit. I highly recommend the museum for anyone wanting to learn about our nation's...
