I’ve gone back and forth on leaving a review about my experience but ultimately decided it was the right thing to do. I booked the Cosmo Cut Experience for October 10 and was looking forward to the luxury, interactive experience promised. From the time I came in, my service was handled by Courtney’s assistant. Her assistant was very kind and did a great job with the hair spa experience, but I was confused that Courtney was not handling the shampoo and conditioning. I only met Courtney after the wash was complete, and I didn’t receive the hair chat that was promised. Once I was in her chair, she briefly asked me what I wanted, looked at the inspirational photos for a few seconds, and began cutting my wet hair. While under the dryer, I noticed my cut was uneven, much shorter than I asked for, and my bangs were too long (down past my nose), sparse, and unblended. She didn’t speak to me throughout my service, instead watching TV or talking to her son, and I didn’t feel there was space for me to speak as another client was soon ushered in. Unfortunately, I walked away from my appointment overcharged ($270 for a package I didn’t get) and with a botched haircut that I then spent another $125 to fix with another stylist. Again, the assistant was very nice, but I cannot recommend coming to this salon. In response to the stylist’s rebuttal, I’d like to clarify a few things. I was NOT positioned in front of the mirror and didn’t get to look into the mirror until the process was finished. I was positioned to face the television the entire time. My hair was cut WET and was still somehow too long. The curly cut I received wasn’t shaped at all; random cuts were made not even suiting my curl pattern. Please see the photos I’ve posted of my DRY RESULTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER LEAVING THE SALON. This was noticed by my untrained eye and the other stylists I’ve gone to since. I tipped because I felt obligated to. It’s disturbing that the stylist’s response was essentially to push everything back on me and demonize the fact that I still tried to be kind by tipping her, but this proves the lack of business savvy and kindness. The zero accountability speaks volumes.

The stylist was nice and did an ok job on my hair. The shampoo experience was not my favorite, their products have a really strong scent reminiscent of perfume oils from the beauty supply store and left my scalp flaky immediately and I rarely have a flaky scalp. My next issue was that the stylist kept commenting at how thick my hair was and how I had true 4c hair etc, which didn’t feel great to hear nor did it feel professional. She then proceeded to do my whole hair and never used a hot comb(or small flat iron) leaving my edges and scalp still 4c. I paid for a trim after 6 months without a trim she trimmed so little I could literally still see the actual split ends(I even let her know I value health over length). I reached out to the salon to hopefully have them at least fix the trim, which she agreed to but then stopped responding to my messages when it came to the day she was suppose to squeeze me in. These photos are as soon as I left the salon and looked into my phone camera, she never let me look in the mirror and another client was waiting in the same room. As someone who getssilk presses often I didn’t feel like the price really matched up with the service. Especially for the location.

As a bi-racial woman with naturally curly hair, I always had a hard time finding someone who knows how to manage my hair. I recently visited Culture Curls Natural Hair Salon for the first time as a referral from a family member; and baebay (in my best Louisiana voice) - I was thoroughly impressed from the moment I walked in. The energy and cleanliness of the establishment stood out immediately. The rave review I heard about the stylist Courtney was not an exaggeration! Her expertise shone through, and my hair color is a perfect match—I absolutely love it! The entire process was seamless, from the initial consultation to the timely reminders; the soothing & relaxing shampoo and the fantastic protein treatment. The other stylists in the salon were equally wonderful, and their positive energy added to the overall experience. You know we had a whole panel discussion about grown folk topics! LOL šŸ˜‚ The salon's dĆ©cor, featuring beautiful art and quotes promoting self-love and confidence, created an inviting and uplifting atmosphere. I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking for exceptional service and a welcoming environment.

Sooooooo, this is my second time coming here and I must say that I have enjoyed Courtnee styling my hair. I received so many compliments from so many different people with the first style she did, I’m curious to see what the out come will be this time around. She asks questions about what products I am using to wash my hair and to condition it, she gave me a very descriptive consultation about my hair, what type of hair I have, what’s good for it and what’s not good for it, the type of curl pattern I have, she answers any questions that I may have about my hair, she is assistant in telling me what products to use until my next appointment and if she is unable to think of something at the time of my appointment, she says that she will get back to me. It’s been a long journey with trying to find myself a good natural hair stylist, I think I have found one now. Thanks Courtnee for hooking a sista up. I am loving my new duo!!!!!!!!

I am adding to this old review, so I went to Court to get a weave out from mid June to let my hair grow out a bit for about 2 month. Well, I just went back to her today and things have definitely changed since I was last at the salon. So, of course the busier you get the more help you’re going to need. She has a new addition to the salon, Mischa. She shampooed my hair today and let me tell y’all, she took the appointment to awhole nother level. When she came to put me in the shampoo chair she told me that I was going to go to sleep and I was thinking to myself maybe, maybe not. When she got to working on my head and she shampooed and conditioned my hair and put me under the hydration, when I felt that heat on my head I was out. I have never fallen asleep in a shampoo chair before, today was the day I did. She is so gentle and patient with my curls, she is thorough with making sure my whole head is nice and clean. I thought Court was good, Mischa got her beat. If you haven’t experienced this salon you need too. It has taken me so long to find myself a natural hair stylist but I have now and I am here to stay. Please, make an appointment and experience the cosmo...

Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit the salon, and I was absolutely delighted. I chose the "1st Time Curly Queen" package, and it was such a relaxing and educational experience. I've been struggling with my curly hair for a while, trying to find the right products for hydration. It’s often hard to find someone who truly specializes in curly hair—I've been to places that claim to know curls, only to end up being offered a hair straightening treatment, which is a big no for me because I love my natural hair.

But the search is over because I found my girl, Courtney! My hair has high porosity, tends to be very dry, and gets frizzy easily. One thing I really loved was how the assistant washed my hair—it was so gentle and the scalp massage was amazing. The wash area is super relaxing, the chair is very comfortable, and it even gives you a massage while your hair is being washed. By the end, my scalp felt refreshed and my hair was incredibly soft.

Courtney took the time to educate me on how to properly wash my hair, which products to use, and how to style it to achieve the results I want. She has such a sweet personality and really makes you feel comfortable and at ease.

The salon itself has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, which made the whole experience even better. It was a truly transformative visit, and I’ll definitely be back! ...
