I forgot to leave a review back on my daughter’s birthday, 12/18/23. Pretty much a ruined experience. Luckily she is 22 and rolled with it. We called to make a reservation. All good. Running a couple minutes late. No problem. There was not one single patron when we got there which should have been a sign. We had 5 people. First, there was a team of people blowing up balloons the entirety of our time there. Second, there was loud and cussing rap music going the whole time. Luckily my kids are grown but there were small children running around, family I guess. I mean this music was so loud and dropping f-bombs the whole time. So so weird!! That’s not even the worst. Our server was the rudest person. She had no personality, no kindness. My son went to take a plate from her that she seemed to be handing and she almost smacked his hand, saying no no, not for you! (No soup for you!). While we were eating, she would be cleaning out from under us, even telling us to hand her the wrappers from the straws. I understand tidying up, but she was literally trying to take items we were eating from. Then she would disappear for great lengths of time. We got our bill once I had to go find her for it. I’m not sure if it was our server who cashed us out but the name on the bill was Angelica. Then she wouldn’t come back for the check. Reminder that we were the only patrons. We were late for our next appointment for bowling because she would just take so long to come back to check on us. Then they added a 15% gratuity on for us one table of 5. Listen, I’ve worked in the service industry. My husband has for 25 years. Two of my daughters there are servers. This was the worst experience and they knew it was her birthday because I asked if we could bring in a cake. So for all of you thinking you may want a nice, cozy dinner at MonteMar. Don’t. Just don’t. Oh, the dip appetizer and salmon were good. Happy...
Read moreEvery year, my family and I chooses a restaurant to visit at either lunch time or dinner on Christmas. This year (2023), I chose the MonteMar to take my family to; and I'm so glad I did!
First off, its in a good and noticeable location, easy to get to and plenty of parking spaces. When we walked in and were immediately impressed by the overall vibe and ambiance! very appealing little place with a dope cultural and modern style. The Hostess was pleasant and let us pick our table, mainly because there weren't many patrons there at the time.
I do have to honestly say that communicating with our waitress was a bit difficult because we couldn't speak Spanish, but overall she was a nice person and took the time to make sure she understood.
We ordered the shrimp tempura roll as an appetizer, but it came to our table with the rest of our food. That was a little disappointing, but it was fine because it was delicious! We were a family of 6 and we all really liked our food! Everything came out correctly, nice and hot, and the food were seasoned really well!
Kudos to the cooking staff because they did a great job with everything! I you are thinking about stopping here, definitely do so because we absolutely plan to visit this place again on a weekend, to really see the...
Read moreI would like to share my recent experience at your restaurant, which I booked on October 5th to celebrate my husband's birthday. Having moved from Miami six years ago, I have found it challenging to discover outstanding Latin cuisine in Gwinnett. However, your establishment has certainly changed my perspective.
I want to express my gratitude to the staff for swiftly accommodating my family with a suitable seating arrangement on such short notice. My 89-year-old grandmother was unable to sit on the high stools, and despite several tables being reserved, your team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable.
The manager and all the waitstaff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The “Georgia Peach” drink, recommended by our waitress, was delightful, especially for those who enjoy fruity beverages. My husband savored the ribeye steak with macaroni and cheese, while I relished the oxtails. We also tried the cheese dip, which was exceptional.
For those with shellfish allergies, I appreciate the care taken to accommodate dietary restrictions, ensuring a worry-free dining experience.
Overall, this was an amazing restaurant experience, and we look forward to returning in the future. I highly recommend checking it out for a wonderful vibe and...
