If you’re looking into attending this school for esthetics, please reconsider. The esthetics program is just a money grab for the owner. If you tour the school and Rene tells you about all the “products” that come in your graduation kit, don’t believe her. The kit we get, compared to other schools, is minimal and not consistent. If they haven’t ordered your supplies by the time you graduate, you will not be getting the entire kit, which contains mostly disposables (cotton rounds, 4x4s, sponges..etc) The current equipment was all brought in by an instructor that used the equipment in her own treatment room, decades ago. All of it is either broken or hardly functioning. Things do not ever get replaced or repaired here. There is a crystal & diamond microdermabrasion machine collecting dust in the back room that no one can use and no one will replace. Our sink has been clogged & out of order for over 3 months. Our toilet in the classroom is rigged inside to hold the chain with an old rusted paper clip, that the esthetics students & instructors have to continuously reach in & fix. We did not have body wax for half the time I spent at this school because they would not order it. There are facial products that we do without because they will not order it. We have had to go out and buy products and tools ourselves in order to gain the practice we paid for through tuition. The cosmo students are the main priority at this school. Esthetician’s are not recognized when they graduate and do not receive the same privileges as the cosmo students. The way our instructors are treated by the school as well, creates a tense and toxic learning environment. Everyone will treat you like a juvenile and talk down to you at any given opportunity. When you graduate, you may be able to get your license, but you will not have proficient training or practice in order to use galvanic current, microdermabrasion, Brazilian waxing (or even body waxing). The school says that they offer additional “Monday” classes to bring in models and gain more practice but this is not the case. You have to repeatedly ask for a class and are turned down multiple times before you are ever given a slight chance. You will need to seek additional training for simple procedures that, even though they are offered on the schools menu, we do not learn. You will not be satisfied in the education you receive at this school if you are serious about...
Read moreI went to this school for a year. I’ve just graduated this month and here’s a few things I’d say about it. It’s not at all professional even if the instructors try it’s just not. They constantly are telling us it’s ”adult education” but then turn around and treat us like children. I have been yelled at infront of clients. I’ve had people tell me they loved my work but would never come back because not only students were unprofessional but also instructors. The instructors don’t even completely know what they’re doing. I got a hair cut from an instructor to help teach the class the specific haircut. It was supposed to be a butterfly cut but now the back of my hair is chopped and I have to wait just to even it out. While being there multiple students were getting high off of mushrooms and the instructors knew about it but didn’t send them home. One of those students are now a student instructor…let that sink in.The instructors act as if they’re still in highschool with petty behaviors that’s honestly unacceptable. If it weren’t for the screwed up contract they had us sign in the beginning I would’ve dropped out. That school is very toxic and draining. If you are over contract they will NOT let you know until you are just about to graduate. I’ve had classmates have to go on a leave of absence just to get the money they owe before they can graduate. All the students do there is complain about how much the school cost even though it’s NOT WORTH IT. If you are looking for a school to actually teach you this is NOT the school for you. This school only teaches you how to pass state boards and the services a client is looking to get. With this being said I hope you do a little more research before choosing Elite Academy of...
Read moreToday was my first time going to Elite to get my hair done, and to be completely honest I was extremely nervous with the idea of having a “student” put color in my hair. Those nerves disappeared shortly after sitting down in Nicole’s chair. Nicole did a braided balayage reversed (I think that’s the right wording), to help bring me back to my natural color but with the dimension I wanted while covering the blonde I had had done in the past elsewhere. During the whole process she explained to me what she was doing and continuously checked in with me on how I was doing with the process. She asked instructors for feedback when not one hundred percent certain which put me at ease. Added bonus was she was pleasant and easy to talk with! I am definitely thankful I stepped out of my comfort zone, because I’ve definitely found my go to person with Nicole for my hair during our time we...
