The UPS Store — Local services in Lehi

I have, in the past, sent all of my packages to the UPS Store. MOST of the time they've been great. But when they haven't been on the ball, it's been when I've really needed them to do a good job. Example: last year they lost a required textbook for two and a half weeks because someone set the package aside and never put a note in the box. When I asked about it, no one knew. It wasn't until I had contacted the seller and shipper and had eliminated every other option and had had to go back and accuse the UPS Store of losing it that they found it. It caused me a lot of unneeded stress.

Much more recently, and the reason I'm writing this, is because an equally important and anticipated package arrived today SIXTEEN minutes before the store officially opened and no one was there to get it, at 8.44am. I needed it for tonight and paid for faster delivery so I would have it today. Now I have to wait until Tuesday because Monday is labor day.

I recently visited this UPS Store to return a small box with a prepaid UPS label. Since I didn't have the label printed, I asked the employee, Kassandra, if she could print it for me. She informed me that it would cost $1 to print the label.

While a dollar isn’t a big deal, I mentioned that in my previous experiences, UPS locations like the one in Saratoga never charged me to print a UPS label. I’ve even printed FedEx labels at other locations without any charge. Despite explaining this, Kassandra insisted that the charge was mandatory.

The $1 charge itself isn’t the issue, but the insistence on this fee left me feeling a bit disappointed. I would have appreciated a bit more flexibility, especially when other stores provide the same service without a charge.

This UPS store has an amazing, service oriented, staff. Matt, their designer, produces really nice graphics designs for my business. Travis, their manager, is extremely humble, approachable, and good natured. The owners, Roger and Shawn, create a culture with a very pleasant mix of professionalism with a kind human touch. They have an excellent P.O. box service that can get packages from Amazon, FedEx, UPS, USPS, and anything else I can think of. I haven't refilled my Epson Printer's Inc Cartridge in almost 4 years because they print everything I need so affordably and quickly. They have really fun toys up front to amuse your kids if they don't want to be doing errands with mom/dad. They occupy a super convenient space right on the border of Lehi and American Fork.
