My husband and I adopted adorable one eyed Miss Greta, a little black pug from the Petco parking lot. We filled out an application and we were able to take her home. Vicky has been blowing up our phone ever since about Greta. We updated her with pictures and set up a time for her to come to our home for a visit. She said she’d be there for “only a few seconds” but ended up staying almost a half hour to talk to me about work and other things. Thats fine, but wanted references after I told her i had no family here, and forced me to give her my brothers contact information even though he doesnt even talk to ME. On top of that, weve been working nonstop and Greta is still a happy little puppy that when we are home have been playing with her, taking her to the beach, and everything she needs and more. Vicky came to out house UNANNOUNCED and involved our buildings management worried about the dog and her well being after ONE DAY of no communication. We would never abuse nor given any indication that Greta is in ill care. We pleaded our case to you and you still came and took her from our home, argued with us over the phone how we didnt give her a good life, and didnt care about Greta being back into the adoption system even though she was happy with us. We are heartbroken, we lost our family member, and so did our cat Winnie, lost her best friend. Vicky also called me by the wrong name multiple times and would talk to my husband saying that I would never answer her and I never communicated. Please be aware of all of this before you adopt from here! We miss...

We adopted our dog in late January 2022 from FHSTJ and have been SO happy!!! We love our girl so much!!! Everyone we've worked with at this rescue has been awesome! When our dog ran away the night we brought her home (it was completely my fault), her foster family and Vicki were so HELPFUL and KIND - not once judgemental at my mistake even though I felt they had every right to be. The communication I've received from them, from the very first time I reached out till now, has been prompt and polite. In fact, I still keep in touch with our dog's foster family 😊

Our dog is the sweetest, gentle and patient with our kids, a great "alarm system" 😂 - an all around good girl - the perfect fit for us! Thank you, FHSTJ for bringing our "puppy" into our lives 💕

I don't recall questions about my race on our application so I don't know where the claims of discrimination against minorities comes from...it's obvious this rescue cares deeply for these animals and only want what's right for them. That process involves ensuring applicants and the home/living arrangements are suited for that particular dog. I follow several rescues. There are dogs receive tons of applications but despite that none of them are "The One" for that dog. Not being chosen for the dog you want is not discrimination. The rescue's job is to make sure the owner and the dog have the best shot at having a successful, life...

Oh wow, where do I begin? This has been a wonderful process from start to finish adopting of our sweet girl Pepper (Prada). We were at an adoption event and my husband and I immediately fell in love with her. One of the women working brought her out of their pin so we could meet her. They gave us a run down of some of the background on her and her personality, and we got to learn about FHSTJ and the wonderful work that they do. Once we filled out an application to adopt her, we brought her home for a trial period. She completely melted into our family. I was talking to Noelle daily to give her updates on Pepper and then we coordinated a home visit about a week after the event. Coordinating schedules for the visit with Noelle was extremely easy and she updated me with an eta when she headed over. Once she did a walk through, we gave her money for the adoption fee, signed the receipt, got her vaccination and microchip records, gave her the harness/leash that they lent me, and she officially became our family. I can't recommend this rescue enough, every single person I spoke to was incredibly kind and you can feel the love they have for these wonderful dogs. We couldn't be...
