I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the incredible care I received at the new Advent ER and hospital in Lenexa. This facility is truly a blessing not only for our community but for the entire state of Kansas.

From the moment I arrived with serious medical concerns, I felt a sense of reassurance. The registration process was swift, and despite the ER being packed with critical patients and facing staffing challenges, my wait time was impressively brief.

My ER nurse, Charles, deserves special recognition. His compassionate and attentive nature transformed a frightening experience into something manageable. He listened intently as I explained my situation—having suffered an injury from a falling refrigerator door while shopping, compounded by dangerously high blood pressure. Charles' support significantly alleviated my anxiety.

The ER doctor was equally exceptional. He took the time to thoroughly explain what was happening with my body, providing clarity and comfort for both me and my daughter. His careful diagnosis gave us both peace of mind.

During my two-hour visit, I underwent an EKG, blood work, and the dreaded IV insertion. Remarkably, I barely felt a thing! The skill and professionalism of the staff made what could have been a painful experience completely painless.

Despite the overwhelming demand on this particular evening and the staffing shortages, the care I received was nothing short of miraculous. Advent ER stands out with its cutting-edge technology and a dedicated team that truly prioritizes patient well-being.

Patient Access & Leadership: Zaria, the Patient Access Supervisor, is an absolute pleasure to work with. She ensures the front desk staff consistently uphold the values of AdventHealth Lenexa City Center Imaging and always leads by example. The Patient Access Manager, Miranda, has such a big, beautiful personality—she instantly makes patients feel comfortable and cared for.

Emergency Department: Heather, an outstanding nurse in the ER, kept things running smoothly even during those busy times when there were more patients than nurses—a true sign of grace under pressure! Nadia, the overnight Emergency Department Patient Access Specialist, is amazing, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she quickly moves up in the company.

Imaging & Ultrasound: Brandy in Ultrasound works incredibly hard and clearly takes pride in her work, which is reflected in her professionalism and patient care. Amber in CT is equally outstanding—her skill and dedication stand out. Brynton, the Imaging Manager, makes sure the staff have everything they need to succeed, creating a supportive environment for the entire team.

Front Desk Excellence: Shanda at the main entrance front desk is a ray of sunshine! She spreads joy to everyone who walks through the doors, and it’s no wonder she’s one of the first faces patients see. Katie, who works mid-shift at the front desk, is oh-so-sweet and works exceptionally well under pressure.

I recently visited the Emergency Department at AdventHealth Lenexa City Center, expecting a CT scan to confirm a recurrence of an ongoing medical condition. From the moment I arrived, the ED team was kind, efficient, and communicative. When they informed me I would be admitted, they ensured I was kept comfortable and checked in frequently while I waited for a bed.

The next morning, I was transported to another hospital for a quick procedure and then brought back—a two-way transport that, to my knowledge, may have been a first for this new facility. Both transport teams and the staff at both hospitals were outstanding—professional, organized, and ready for my arrival. Everything ran flawlessly, and I truly felt well cared for at every step.

My total stay lasted five days in the MedSurg unit. The hospital room was immaculately clean, and the state-of-the-art technology throughout the facility was impressive. But the real highlight of my stay was the medical staff. From top to bottom, every team member exceeded expectations. Not a single complaint about any of the RNs (and in past hospital stays, there’s always that one Nurse Ratched). The hospitalists and consulting specialists were timely—even over the weekend—and communicated clearly about my condition, next steps, and discharge plan. Their thoroughness and transparency gave both my wife and me tremendous peace of mind.
