I know the hotel business is not easy. I speak from experience travelling the world. Overall, the customer service in the US is so low so low that's it's shameful to have this in a so called 'developed' country.
This hotel however stood out. I'm a Globalist but have been treated with absolute disrespect and been spoken to just plain rudely and in many instances condescending way so in the US, my expectations are super super super low.
This was a pit stop for us for the night on our way from Denver to Chicago (yeah, we took the long route as I had to have the Kansas City bbq). It was over the 4th of July weekend and the weather from Denver itself was bad.
My wife was not feeling the best and I knew this will be a loooooong drive as compared to any other day. I had booked a non refundable rate but still reached out to the hotel (didn't share anything about my status) and asked if there was any possibility to reschedule it for the next day should my wife not feel better. I forget the name of the person I spoke to since it's been 3 weeks now (shame on me) but she was one of the nicest person I've spoken to at a Hyatt Place in the United States. She went above and beyond and said they would be able to accommodate my request. I ended the call saying I will give my wife 2 hours to see how she feels before I make the decision and will reach out. She said she's there till 3 so that will not be a problem.
I was now debating if I should drive in the weather (hailing, then rain, then hail again then sunshine then rain again). My wife started feeling better so we decided to leave.
This person at the hotel proactively reached out to me at 2:45 to confirm and said if she doesn't hear back, they will assume I am coming but if not, I should call and let them know because that reschedule option is still on the table.
This is customer service; really caring about your customer in a situation that the customer is trying to make the best of and the staff is trying to make that one thing less difficult for you.
Thank you Hyatt Place; I'm so sorry I forgot your name but if you are reading this, you worked the phones on June 30.
On our way, I knew we ain't making it before 2 am (time zone change plus the rains) so I called and spoke to the staff and they assured me that won't be a problem at all.
We arrived and our keys were ready. I had already done an online check in so it was a breeze.
The room as other reviews have said was immaculate. It was one of the cleanest Hyatt Place's I have stayed at in the US.
I wish all the Hyatt Places would have this level of service and cleanliness. Each year, we do this trip from Denver to Chicago and this is the Hyatt Place we'll always...
Read moreBe warned! BED BUGS!! Sunday, August 24th I booked a room at the HYATT Hotels in Lenexa(435 & 87th). When I arrived I checked into my room #322 and found multiple pieces of hair and sticky stuff on the bathroom floor, as well as a hair on my clean bathroom towels hanging on the wall. I called down and they switched rooms for me. I moved into my second room #219 and found a small puddle of water on the floor from the mini fridge leaking everywhere. They then moved me into room number #215. All seemed to be going well other than the fact that the TVs weren't Smart TVs, so I watched Netflix from my phone. As I just finished an episode of Sullivan's Creek, I look down and notice a little, tiny bug crawling on the corner of the bed. It was as small or smaller than a gnat. I put it on a piece of paper nearby and used Google lens to make sure it wasn't the worst thought to come to my mind. Google lens offered numerous bug options, but one of them was the invasive bed bug. I start scrambling and searching under the mattress, but couldn't really see anything trying to hold it up on my own. I pulled the fitted sheet off and found a much, much larger dead bed bug at the head of the bed. That was enough for me. After ensuring none of my belongings were on any soft surfaces or the floor, I bagged both bed bugs up and went to the front desk. Kiala, who is believe was the asst. manager, came to the desk. She looked at the bugs and then went to the back room to call the manager. She comes back up and tells me that she has a couple of options for me. She said she could move me to another room which, of course, I declined. She then said "since we were unable to accommodate YOUR needs", yes extra emphasis on YOUR, you can call the Priceline affiliate and request a cancellation and refund. They can call our manager for approval on the refund. Several days later, I was able to get my refund. I was pissed with the way the asst. manager spoke to me. As if having a clean room with a dry floor or a room free of bed bugs were too much to ask. For the record, I've stayed in many hotel rooms and this is the first time I've ever had to be moved to a different room. You might avoid the Hyatt for a while or be sure to double check your room before getting...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Place Kansas City Lenexa, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish.
From the moment I walked through the doors, it was evident that this hotel adheres to the esteemed Hyatt standard of excellence. The comfort and cleanliness were immediately apparent, setting the tone for a relaxing stay. What truly stood out, though, was the warmth and helpfulness of the staff. Their genuine friendliness made me feel right at home, and it was evident that they were committed to ensuring every guest had a memorable stay.
One of the highlights of my time at the Hyatt Place Kansas City Lenexa was the impressive variety offered at their continental breakfast. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or savory, healthy or indulgent, there's something to satisfy every palate. It was a great way to kickstart each day of my stay.
Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hotel was. Despite its convenient location, I never once felt disturbed by outside noise, allowing for a truly restful night's sleep. And speaking of sleep, the bed in my room was nothing short of heavenly. Clean, cozy, and oh-so-comfortable, it was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.
Additionally, I appreciated the designated workspace in my room. As someone who often needs to catch up on work while traveling, having a comfortable area to do so was a major plus.
Overall, my experience at the Hyatt Place Kansas City Lenexa exceeded all expectations. It's clear that this hotel is committed to providing guests with a top-notch experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone...
