Having had take out a few times, we finally decided to dine in! We came during a KU basketball game, and had made reservations, but being a weird time between lunch and dinner, we probably didn't need them.
Reading previous reviews across platforms, there was a lot of mention about the service, and I can safely say that we had a wonderful experience! Our first server was Abby, she was friendly and checked in frequently, kept our waters full, and made sure to check in regarding our beers and when we wanted to order food (we opted to start with apps and then got a pizza at the half!). She had to clock out part way through, and the gal that took over after her was equally great. I feel terrible I don't remember her name, but she helped me decide on a drink.
We all started with beers - between our table we had the Abbey Ale, the Blonde, the Per Diem, a stout, and the hardway IPA. I can't speak to them all, but the per diem was good! I would have loved a few more sour or lighter options (not an IPA gal) but I was able to find something. I was between a margarita and smoked paloma for a cocktail, and our waitress suggested the paloma because it was unique whereas the marg was pretty standard. It ended up being delicious (good, smoky flavor).
The pretzel sticks are a must - so warm, so soft, and they pair well with the cheese sauce. We ended up getting a second order because they went so fast. We also had some brussels - they aren't super crispy but they pair well with the bacon and the dijon sauce is a unique twist. Our table cleaned the plate.
We ended up building a small pizza as well. We had meatball, ricotta, and bruschetta mix. Our only complaint is that we wished it had a little more of the bruschetta mix -- and maybe next time we just ask for extra or double of that topping! Having not had it before, we didn't know what or how much to expect.
Again, we had a good experience service wise! That said, we didn't sit at the bar or ever go up to the bar, but the two gals taking care of our...

My experience at Martin City Brewery Lenexa was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the inviting aroma of freshly baked pizza and the warm smiles of the staff.
Let's start with the food. The pizza and sandwiches were absolutely delicious, exceeding all expectations. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and it was evident that only the freshest ingredients were used. The pizza crust, in particular, was a standout - perfectly crispy and ideal for wood-fired pizza.
But it wasn't just the food that impressed me; the service was equally remarkable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. A special shoutout to Cami J, whose exceptional service truly made my visits unforgettable. Their warmth and genuine friendliness were so delightful that my companions and I found ourselves returning for a second night in a row. It was a pleasant surprise to see Cami stopping by our table to say hello, even when we weren't seated in her section. That level of attentiveness is truly commendable and made us feel like valued guests.
And let's not forget about the beer selection - it was extensive, with something to please every palate. From light and refreshing to bold and robust, there was a diverse range of flavors to explore. Whether you're a seasoned beer aficionado or simply looking to try something new, Martin City Brewery Lenexa has you covered.
In summary, my experience at Martin City Brewery Lenexa was nothing short of exceptional. Great food, good service, and a welcoming atmosphere - what more could you ask for? Whether you're craving delicious pizza, tasty sandwiches, or a refreshing brew, this place has it all. I highly recommend paying them a visit - you won't be disappointed!

Read moreService was phenomenal. April truly provided some of the best service I've ever had. And we didn't even tell her it was my birthday!
Beer selection was OK. Would've been fun to see some higher-gravity stuff on the menu (still holding out hope for Kentucky Friar to come back!). I was pretty disappointed by the Double Berry Sour. The beer I enjoyed most was the guest tap - Founder's Porter.
Pretzel sticks were way too salty. The mustard was also extremely salty. I have never had mustard that repulsed me with saltiness before, but I guess I can cross that off the list. My heart was pounding and my veins were bulging out of my hands for the rest of the night.
The highlight of the meal was the house salad. Which I feel is telling, but it was really good. Excellent balance of flavors, not smothered in dressing.
Pizza was... strange. The toppings tasted good but were applied very sparingly. It was as if there was twice as much crust or 1/2 the right amount of toppings. SO dry and bready. I asked for more marinara sauce just so I could chew & swallow it. The leftovers we took home and threw in the toaster oven with about another ounce of cheese per slice and it was about right. Based on that pizza, if I ordered again I would ask for extra sauce, extra cheese, and extra toppings.
We've had MCBC pizza several times over the years (in Martin City and Mission Farms) and have always enjoyed it. I'm not sure if this is a shrinkflation situation or a mistake, but it was not great. Honestly, not teasing or exaggerating, the closest pizza I've had to this is QuikTrip. Which isn't awful, but it's in a very different class from what I've come to expect from MCBC.
The beer-a-misu we got to go and it was pretty fantastic. I can wholeheartedly recommend that!
So, overall, amazing service, OK beer, good salad & dessert, sad pizza & apps. I'm sure I'll go back but it's probably going to...
