I went in this morning to ask about their prices for ground beef. I cook all of my dogs food and go through about 10 pounds of ground beef a week, which I had been getting for the last 8 months at Derricos for $2.99 pound until they recently closed. While I was there, I also planned on picking up the new Boars Head Romano cheese, their buffalo cheese dip and maybe some steak tips. I asked the girl behind the counter how much the ground beef was, and was told $4.99 per pound. I started to ask if they offer any discounts if I buy in bulk, and before I could even finish my sentence, she was shaking her head no. I told her I understand, I was only asking because I used to get it for $2.99 at Derricos, then she yelled in the back for the manager (I did not ask to speak with him). He came out and I said that I was really sorry to bother him, but that I had just been inquiring if they offer discounts for bulk because I go through ten lbs per week when he cut me off and said he sells 3-4 thousand pounds per week, then I explained that I had been getting it for $2.99 lb, to which he reacted āno you didnātā, and where are they now? You canāt find fresh ground beef cheaper than what I sell it for. He said maybe you got it that price as they were going out of business, and I explained that I had been getting it at that price all along to which he again replied āno you didnātā. I never expected to get it from him for that price, but would have been very happy with a 50 cent per pound discount. $5.00 is all it would have cost him to make a customer happy, and I would have purchased several other things on top of it. He is the one who responded in an adversarial way by cutting me off and talking over me, so I said thank you, turned around and left, and will never spend another dime in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery friendly staff they greeted me as soon as I walked in treated me very nicely. There prices are honestly unbeatable they have many packages and they're willing to do substitutions as long as it's equal to the price of whatever your substituting and if it's more as long as you're willing to pay the difference they have no problem doing it. They accept EBT which is always a benefit. I previously went to Derricos market in leominster and spent $160 on roughly the same kind of package 5 lb of four or five different kinds of meats and at Central Street market I only spent $100. They also have cheese that's $5.99 a pound again unbeatable. They told me that the order would be done a little after 1:00 and I saw how many slips they had they had a lot and they still managed to get me my order before 1:00 well before it. This place is great the meat quality is fantastic it's nice and red All American meat. I really appreciated the fact that they individually wrapped the Hamburg 5 lb I got 5 lb and they wrapped them up in 1 lb packages which was extremely helpful because when I went to the other market they didn't do that and I didn't have the materials to wrap them up individually so them taking the time to wrap everything individually was much appreciated. this is from now and forever more my go-to place for meats and cheese. They don't have anything on Google so if you'd like to take a look at their packages I'm including a photo and they also...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time customer from west boylston. My girlfriend and I were welcomed by Mike, the owner. The girl at the counter picked out 3 beautiful rib eyes for us. Mike asked where we were from, then he took the time to tell us of the quality of his meat and his various products. He told us he grinds his own beef into hamburg and sells hundreds of lbs weekly. Then to our amazement he said he would like to give us a couple of his good sized hamburg patties to try!! Who does that? A good business man is who. True to his word these lean burgers tasted amazing. Smelled and tasted like a steak and ate like a 80 to 85% hamburger even though they are leaner. Thank you to Mike, a true old school butcher, for our new source of amazing meats and chicken. Dave...
