Absolutely terrible experience. I went to the Claw Shop for a balayage. My hair was dark brown and I was hoping for a gradual ombre to a caramel. I had the first morning appointment and was very quickly disappointed. Having a holiday dinner a few days away I stayed but should not have. The place was very messy and the stylist was cleaning other peoples hair out of the brush. (Red Flag - I know). The stylist barely talked to me at all either despite my efforts to make any sort of conversation. She started on the side of my head, not the back like normal and picked pieces to paint rather than a traditional balayage. I do my hair from home often and have used 30 Volume Developer but only for 15 minutes. By the time she was done it had been 20 minutes. She then put me under the heat lamps. After 5 minutes I went to find her but she was busy. Dying her own hair for her evening dinner plans. 25 more minutes went by and she came to rinse my hair. My hair was bright orange, she used a purple shampoo and a 30 Volume Developer on my hair. It turned my roots yellow, the ends just died. She barely shampooed and did not condition. She was in a rush so she would have extra time after my appointment to finish her hair. She then proceeded to hack off my hair where she seemed fit. Then used a wire brush to dry my hair (no product) and since the bleach was not washed out my hair was damaged and shredded further. I had my hair fixed this past weekend and lost 3 inches of hair and was told I cannot go any lighter or my hair will break off completely because of what was done at the Claw Shop. Never go for anything...
Read moreI typically rate 3 stars or higher trying to call out pros and cons, but there is nothing nice to say about this place. I had some doubts as soon as I saw someone in a wife beater drinking an energy drink and smoking a cigarette outside the salon, but I thought they can't control their parking lot. Then I went in and the receptionist was having a casual conversation with a colleague about a woman's dating life. I waited thinking it was their job to greet me and check me in, they never acknowledged me (standing in front of them) I had to ask them to check me in. Their tone of voice was annoyed and rushed sending the message that I was inconveniencing them. When I finally got into a chair with someone to trim my hair the smell of cigarette from the person working on my hair made me desperate to get out as soon as possible. The entire time I sat there the staff continued to gossip about others dating and parenting choices giving the vibe of a high school mean girls group. Not someplace I enjoyed being and not someplace I recommend. My trim was ok, but not exactly what I wanted due to a lack of communication from the hair dresser more focused on gossip than their job and from me thinking that if I communicate to them it might take longer and I will be here choking on the smell of...
Read moreI need to start off by saying that all the staff here was so nice; But I need to leave an honest review. I came here for acrylics 2 days before my wedding, an older woman did them originally and they looked so terrible I almost cried. Totally uneven, all mis shaped, white and pink a mess. The owner was very nice and had someone else fix them, she had to reshape them and go over the white part with polish. Well now it’s a day before my wedding and one of my nails is already messed up. I’m hoping I can stop somewhere for some white polish to fix it, but so annoyed that I am doing this 1 day after getting them done. I also need to add that I got an awesome pedicure here, and my mom got a great manicure but anyone thinking about getting acrylics here I would stay...
