My mom and I went here looking for curtain fabric. They didn't really have anything to pick from other than cotton fabric. That aside, I was looking in a bin full off remnants and when I began to walk away a large strap on a tote bag that was just laying on the floor in front of me caught my boot and sent me flying. I was, however, able to stop myself from falling but managed to whack my hand on the table behind me causing my thumb to swell up, not to mention it broke my fingernail! I wasn't upset about it though, accidents happen. what really irked me was the way the woman in the store reacted. She told me very rudely that "I" need to watch where I'm going! no "I'm so sorry", no "are you ok?" nothing! and she took no responsibly for leaving a strap on the floor for people to trip on. This could have been much worse had I fallen. Then after that, I politely asked her about the price of a piece of fabric I found in the bin which she answered in a short tone. I then asked if it would be good fabric for roman shades to which she answered, "I don't know" in a very condescending voice. No kindness and NO knowledge of fabrics! Such a terrible and uncomfortable experience. Even my boyfriend told me he hated it there and asked me if we can shop somewhere else. Their fabrics were limited but I was willing to make it work until the way she put me down for no reason. I am still learning and that experience made me doubt whether or not I wish to continue because I falsely assumed most sewists were kind and willing to share their expertise in an empathetic way. So...
