St Mary's Lighting & Electric — Local services in Lexington Park

As a small business owner, I rely on fair pricing and decent customer service, St. Mary’s lighting offers neither.

I typically avoid this location because of previous bad experiences, but I happened to be working nearby and needed a 100-foot cut of 6/2 Romex. They quoted me an absolutely outrageous price $439!

To be sure I wasn’t mistaken, I called City Electric in Prince Frederick, same wire and was quoted about $200 less for 125 feet!! That’s not just a small markup; that’s a blatant attempt to take advantage of someone. And it’s not the first time I’ve seen this behavior here.

When I told the woman at the counter I could get it cheaper elsewhere—even mentioning Lowe’s—she smirked and said, “Have fun,” like she couldn’t care less. No effort to work with me, no respect, no professionalism. Just attitude and a price tag that makes zero sense.

Poor service, I was in there first thing this morning and the man and woman behind the desk talked amongst them selves like I didn’t even exist. When they finally asked me what I needed, they they quickly said they didn’t have it even thought eight years ago I bought it there. Their attitude, disrespectful behavior did not represent the store I use to frequent. Twenty minutes later I found the part at Lowe’s. Being the owner of three small businesses, I recommend the owner of this business counsel or remove these employees from public facing jobs. This does not reflect the can do spirit of our county.
